Re: Americium (resubmitted to show details)
You still have to show the t-shirt template or else it can be rejected... That's why most of us have both on the design composition or post the bigger picture on the comments. Sorry I didn't mean to confuse you.
Re: dubnium - can you hear that radiation?
Can you post a closeup of this? It is hard to see how you did the colors on the recorder and the drum. If there are gradients, woot may not be able to print them.
superspryte wrote:Probably, but I'd never put this much work into a design and risk it. Especially when Lucas is one of the most adamant about protecting his franchise. However, it does appear Joel deems this acceptable since it hasn't been rejected yet.
If no one tattles, he may not notice it unless it makes it into the fog.
Re: Arsenic: The lover's draught
nice skek! very pretty detailing, and I was surprised that arsenic hadn't been taken

Srsly! I love good ol' 3PO, but he was always the biggest wuss in all the movies...

camoor wrote:I love the Byzantine design, and know someone it would be perfect for. To be honest, shirt is probably too classic for the shirt.woot.com derby (in the derby, trendy almost always trumps classic) Beautiful art, you are really talented!
Thanks! And, I think you're right. Too much design for a shirt. But, it was worth a shot.
Re: Tin:Tin Man Can
Ack! Adding comments seems a little unpredictable; I just left this comment God only know where. Anyway, I originally laughed when I saw this because I was SURE it was called "Pushing Tin." Still great, regardless.
I like your tin man! It's cool. The mouse is really cute. I hope it gets printed!
Re: Plutonium: Powers This Shirt
Pretty neat! It's all about the reflections ;)
toe2254 wrote:you go to the one that reads Radium: the Watch of Ra and click the "i'd want one" button. of course, that'll work for any design you want to vote for also.
:p to you, Mr. Toe. And to Andy, yes, the I Want One Button is what you're supposed to look for above the design you wish to vote for. That you've never voted and want to vote for mine, makes me happy!
IROCit wrote:Okay.. can someone define incidental text then? FWIW - I love this design, but when is text not "incidental?"
Rather than define "incidental," which ranges widely, think of text that is "integral" to the design or message. Still it is a judgement call but in this case the text (in my judgment) is not integral to the design and is therefore incidental.
Re: Nitrogen: Cryogen
Nice crispy rose - commented in the other thingy and added you to the chart!
Re: iron: the iron robot says thank you
An idea wiggling around in the back of my mind over a busy weekend finally gets life!
JonSnow wrote:For using so few lines you managed to create a lot of depth. Nice job man
Thanks! I enjoyed making it.
Great job!!! I am going to have to update my signature!
Kwatson29 wrote:Proud art major from UT! Kudos on design. I look forward to entering more of these myself. First shirt put in, just testing the water before I jump. Have a great week!
Hook 'em! Hehe. So which one is yours? Have to go vote for it...always support a fellow Texan. <}
illuminator wrote:Pretty neat! It's all about the reflections ;)
Thanks! Speaking of, you did an incredible job with yours too!

ROFLMAO THANK YOU!!!!!

Thanks. I had a lot of fun with this one...
Cactupuss wrote:If i did that i would get axed for intentional text, no?
Maybe resubmit with the text and see if it gets axed? I would want it if it had the text - I don't think people would get it right off and most usually just glance at a shirt anyway.

my bad. see, this is what happens when you delete the link information. in the forum this comment could be for anybody.
Re: Mercury: The QuickSilver Psycho
You know I really love the Mad Hatter meets Cheshire cat feel that this gives off. I have a feeling that when Lewis Carroll was writing that this would be about what he saw. Great work, Jaden.

I didn't delete anything :D
Re: Aluminum: You're doing it wrong
GMV. I'm working in Britain now, and it drives me up the wall everytime they say "aluminium" (which is a lot since I'm working at a car company)
Re: Chlorine: Just A Little Too Much
Oh, god, it's awful! GMV!
Re: Plutonium: Shiva's Plaything (v2)
WHat happened to the other shirt!?!?! I can barely see any of the detail! The last one complimented your style WAY better!
Fun facts about nitrogen: It makes up almost 80% of our atmosphere It is an essential part of amino acids and amino acids are essential to life, therefore, nitrogen is a VIE! Colorless, odorless, and tasteless and is probably what whooshes out of your potato chip bag when you open it. Used in packaging to preserve freshness because it's oxygen that makes it go bad. The most used element in cryogenics, liquid nitrogen boils at −196.5 °C and is really fun to dip stuff in! If I had gotten this right sooner, would have added more roses and maybe a shattered one and designed it better to actually go on a shirt. Just happy I managed to kinda make it look frozen in only six colors! Thanks to Jaden for the suggestion that worked...

YAY!!! ((hugs)) Thanks Criseyde!!!! I totally see that as well. thanks
oooh boni, you posted it!!! very pretty!

PLEASE CAN WE GET THIS IN THE FOG. WOULD BUY 3. AND SO WOULD MY BROTHER. WANT BAD. But seriously, this shirt rocks my socks off.

Re: Carbon: Where Diamonds are Formed
Come on folks! Let's keep this in the top ten!
Re: Molybdenum: Isotopes being isolated
The shadows seem too square and don't help add to the sphere feel of the isotopes. Also, the image is a little large. I think it would look better a bit smaller.
Great combo of subtle cleverness and a striking design!
Re: Helium: Octo's Great Adventure
This is easily my favorite shirt of the derby... sokowa, if it doesn't print here (sadness) by some chance, please let me know where it might show up :D. I love this design but especially the pallete (is it pallet)? Well, whatever word is used to describe the selection of colors and how they relate. I am loving the soft warm feel to this shirt and somehow all your shirts seem to have that. I have a few of your shirts but I would love more. I also especially appreciate how you experiment with techniques and styles and subjects. Ok, better stop now. Just "color" me impressed and keep stylin'!
Yet another brilliant JadenKale shirt. Plus I loooove Alice in Wonderland. My fave is the Cheshire cat. And that smile gives me chills. You have my vote!
JadenKale wrote:the numbers??? 80 is the atomic number, and the other 2 symbols are the scientific name for Mercury= Hg besides the droplets of mercury on the top of the hat, I needed a little more to show the element.
Ah man I'm so glad you said that. I was looking for the symbol (I would never have noticed 80 as the atomic number by itself - I had no idea what the number is), but the Hg is so small on the image there I missed it completely. I was just thinking if it had a slightly more explicit reference to mercury than the droplets I would buy it - now you've got my vote!
