acpletch wrote:Thanks for all the support! I'm happy with the artwork but it just didn't come out as funny as I had hoped. Hopefully next weekend I'll be more inspired funny-wise. Maybe I've been forgetting to take my vitamin funny. OOh! Maybe I should just make one of those super artsy not funny shirts all the kids seem to go for these days. What's the in thing right now? Is it birds or squids? Man I can never keep track these days. Maybe I should hang out by the mall shops so I can catch up on all the latest trends. OOH I KNOW!!! BIRD SQUIDS! THAT'LL BE THE SHIZ-NAT! Ohh I gotta install some fog lights on this iMac right quick!

Hahaha! You know, I think you should do a design with some kids at the mall... Thinking that they're the shiz-nat... Wearing Hot Topic shirts... And waiting for their moms to pick them up...

I HATE this shirt, but I do want more people starting at my chest, so I'm torn...

(I'm sorry. That wasn't very funny and I really do like this shirt. What's written on the notes is much funnier than I was being. Ees good!)

This design is great! Well executed and funny to boot. I agree with the previous poster though, I think the placement is wrong. Needs to be moved up. Regardless, I feel an honorable mention here. ;-)

With a little effort (and a good design), coordinating a t-shirt of any color is easy. ;]

Number of shirt.woots in 08: 23 (not counting randoms and shirts bought for friends)
number of shirt.woots in 09: 2 (same criteria)

Re: The Choice Was Not Hard

I love the design, and I'd definitely get the shirt, but I have to ask one small question. Is this on topic? I like the shirt design, but it has nothing to do with work.

You can ride with me, or you can find your own path. Don't stab me in the back after I've cleared the way.

Yeah, I kinda wondered... so where's that info at? Or do you just find it out when you get rejected?

This shirt just makes me feel good. I don't know what it is, but when I look at it I feel good. Definitely GMV, and when (not if, right?) it prints it has my purchase.

You have to work for the things on the left. The choice is: Do I put in the work to attain the money, success and fame? Or do I say eff it all and just go for the waterslides. That was my intent, anyway. Maybe some people were missing it. Yes? No?

Thanks again again for the comments and the votes everyone. I feel the love and I like it!

Hah, well, yeah. I tried to make it as true to the original sketch as possible since that was the concept. For some reason, armpit hair is an immediate detail to me, llo.

Thanks for all the great comments and support for this design. I'm not getting my hopes up with it because coming in 4th and 5th place seems to be my way and I can see that happening with this one down the stretch. Still I appreciate the votes.

Awesome entry. I do see the theme here and think that this is a very clever way of interpreting it. The signs remind me of Dr. Seuss - which is a definite plus! Good luck and congrats on getting 1st - cause you know you will... GMV!
