The Family Guy movie was called Blue Harvest, so it should count.

I won't be online after today until Sunday night. Looking forward to seeing what you talented guys and gals come up with!

The only thing I could come up with for this is sad. I just see a bunch of dead unicorns with one left alive standing in the middle. I can't do that.

Alright, now that I got your attention, I wanted to let everyone in on the concept I'm sketching out right now. I will post some of the sketches in a few hours. I will be doing Dark Knight. I am going to have a battle between Medieval knights with various colored armors that parody the foes of batman. I will post my sketches soon, but any comments or direction (i.e. shirt color design layout/elements, etc.) before I post would be appreciated. I'm thinking asphalt with black colored knight in middle surrounded by purple knight Joker, green knight riddler/croc, tan/brown for scarecrow, Red for 2face.

Thanks in advance.

Darn it, I was thinking of the Dark Knight too. Although I was just thinking of just doing the one knight.

Wow, this theme is just way too tempting. I'm going to be busy with moving to college...but I MUST attempt this theme. =D So many possibilities, I was a little worn out by the boring themes.

Yeah, that's a cool design. I gave it a 5, but I just can't bring myself to wear a girl's naked boobages, so I don't think I'll be picking it up...

Free ideas for Last Unicorners...I've tried and failed on my illustration career for shirt.woot:

- Grampa unicorn in rocker with blanket sitting by a fire...maybe reading the obituaries

- Line of unicorns waiting to get into something like a movie or concert...what kind of concert would Unicorns go to? or maybe he's up to the ticket window with a sold out sign as you glimpse one just going into concert/theater or something.

-and then there's always a blend of the movie and Last Unicorn song...unicorn scuba-diving as Noah's Ark goes off into the rain

I'd like to think this will be the case; however, it's also very possible that people will stick to what's current and familiar right now ... lousy movies that will have slipped completely from the cultural consciousness in a couple of years time, making the shirts a lot less relevant & entertaining.

It doesn't seem to me like the color scheme of a movie in and of itself could be considered being a distinctive visual element of said movie. For instance, would I be prohibited from using any black and neon green if I were going to do a matrix shirt. Or no red and yellow If I did Iron Man. This doesn't seem like a valid extension of their so called "distinctive visual elements" clause.

Regulatory issues aside, you can't copy right a color - or a combination of colors for that matter.

Anyone else want to chime in? Woot Staff?

I would love to see these movies done with the feel of the movie

Pan's Labyrinth
The Departed
Pulp Fiction (I loved Edgar's parody of this)

Just my personal opinion, but I would rather see something thematic rather than just bad puns.

Right - I don't think the design will be rejected just for having dwarves, since they're in the title. To be safe, thethatcher, you should make sure they don't look like the classic Disney characters. I love the idea though! I can't wait to see it finished.

I've been playing around with a couple different variations of this one. my favorite one is seven garden gnomes (not dwarfs, but very similar) covered in the first snow of the season. with a dead/dying garden in the background. (the garden will be very muted, more of an after thought than anything)

Unfortunately, only incidental text is allowed in this derby, and I'm not sure if this would count. Obviously the text is there for a reason, but it might be too prominent.
Any other opinions on whether this would count or not?

I like old horror movies so I hope some does something with those. It would also be cool to see something like Shawn of the Dead of Hot Fuzz done up. I have no idea how to do any of them (so it is a good thing I don't design t-shirts). There is also Princess Bride that could be used.

I like "The Last Unicorn" too and the shirt at Threadless doesn't remind me at all of the movie.
