whether your panic is obvious or not, your entry adhering to the topic, however.. not so obvious.

the quickness of your response, added to your vocabulary, reminds me of the kids in high school that wouldn't hang with me and the rest of the losers at lunch, but could obviously never fit in with the "cool kids". your eliteism scares me. but thanks for the Manos, the Hands of Fate.

Elitism? How did you get all of that from one response? I was simply foreshadowing your big red "rejected" stamp.

Man, is my face red! I knew that : ( - I wondered why they kept looking like ants - I kept making the abdomen shorter in a very blonde way trying to make them look more like spiders... Thanks for setting me straight - I've stayed up way too late trying to fix them and have almost finished - here's a preview - I'll resub tomorrow after I finish with my layers.

I feel like it would be perfect if it was closer up, closer to where those parts on your body are.
Also utensils look kind of weird...

Re: 2008: Panic on Wallstreet

"Panic is a sudden fear which dominates or replaces thinking and often affects groups of people or animals. The word panic derives from the name of the Greek god Pan, who was said to have the ability to cause extreme, irrational fear, especially in lonely or open places. Panic is also known as Anxiety."

Re: No More Chips?!

If anyone has far greater artistic skills than I, feel free to resub this idea. Please e-mail me first so I can take off this one. psycodrumfreak@gmail.com. Also another good idea would be the last cigarette of the pack. Thanks for your support, and though I can manage putting my ideas down in drawings, I do have ideas for most of these derbies that are way too complex for me to draw, so message away, and I can try to help you as best I can.

cute idea, but blatant copyright infringement. I'd buy it if it won, but it won't make it that far unfortunately

Re: X-Raylien!

in addition to the myriad of other crits that have already been given, i'd also like to point out that the xray placement doesn't line up properly with the wearer's body. I mean, not like it has to be precise, but if I was going to wear this shirt, the neck of the xray would be near my sternum.

Re: Donut Panic!

The expressions on both are absolutely wonderful. The trickle of jelly from the mouth adds that extra something to really make it pop, and the other donut has one of the best expressions of sheer panic I've seen yet in this derby.

Good job!

I didn't notice him last time, but I love the leaf kicking back and enjoying his ride down. This shirt has enough detail that it makes me laugh, but I can see actually wearing it and having the casual passerby giggle at the general premise. GMV

Saw this in the pre-derby thread, and giggled at it. It has since grown to a full-blown guffaw. (<-- Apparently that is how you spell that word. Firefox tells me so) I think this is now three of your shirts I've voted for this derby. Can I just send you money instead of voting each time?

Re: Surrounded

I think this is the point when you stop wondering which of them you're going to shoot, and instead start thinking about a clever line to use just before you off yourself.

Or, "Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades."

Re: X-Raylien!

There are a couple of things I'd like to comment on. I did the x-ray backwards, mainly because I didn't want it to look like it was actually a fluoroscope view into the persdon wearing the shirt. that was probably overthinking.

I did NO livetracing.

I wish I had done the halftoning thing, and if I ever get a chance to do an x-ray again, I will.

I'm not sure I could pull off the whole fading around the edges technique. I'd probably give it a try next attempt at this kind of design, but I'm in a condo on the Delaware beach and don't have the tools, so I'll stick with this one.

sorry you guys don't like the silverware, I was trying to give a bit of light-heartedness to the design.

thanks for all the votes so far!

I came in to ask that, but then I realized it's actually kinda nifty having almost-spider-ant-things instead of actual spiders. At a glance, creepy and panic-inducing. If you stare long enough to realize "Hey, arachnids have a fused head and thorax, these have too many body segments," you have to consider 1) You have a lot of free time on your hands. 2)You're still staring at creepy bugs. And 3) you've now been staring at somebody's torso for thirty seconds, and that's creepy and panic-inducing in and of itself.

Re: See Spot Jump

*snerk* I love the fact that it's not panic, but the moment when you feel like the hero, just before you realize that heroes are made because someone did something stupid that worked.
