Re: Worst scenario...E-V-E-R

Cute old-fashioned design. I, too, wouldn't have noticed the 13th floor, or the spider...if you hadn't said something. From the thumbnail...I thought something was going right through the clown's head....but that's just the bar of the elevator.

Once, I read the description....I understand the 'panic'. But, I still needed help identifying the 13th floor and the spider.

Love the nostalgic colors!

I agree wholeheartedly. I mean, it just makes SENSE, you know? THEft... THEif... I think just changing it would make everyone's life easier. Thank you for your support, Jestik. Unless you're making fun of me... in which case, IMA CUT YOU!

Re: Stampede

Well, over the summer I was gone and didn't have enough time for designing, now that my year is started up again I will try to sub every week

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE:
I have a serious problem, I make all my stuff in Illustrator but I have a problem with getting the colors onto separate layers. My only solution so far is to save it as a non-ai file, then live trace it, then place colors on separate layers. The only problem with this is that it doesn't do it perfectly for what I have tested so far.

So if necessary I will go back in and just erase stuff and put it onto layers for the print-file, but if anyone has an easy answer/program, etc. Pleaseeee help me

*note* I have the full adobe suite, so other programs are usable too, saying this I realize that I could save it as a psd and do it over there with the magic wand, but I would still like a vector alternative if possible

Thanks in advance

-andrewlb

p.s. woot staff- no worries if this gets close to winning I will get a print ready file in to you

well then welcome back
of your design, i like the concept
heres the inevitable "but"
the partial outlining rather than full or none is distracting to me for some reason on this one. i am also not a fan of white tees.
but the placid little mouse that caused all the uproar is my favorite part.

Re: AAaahh!!! Spiders!!! (Resub!)

Liquid spiders? I've noticed a pattern in your designs.
Exhibit A and Exhibit B

You may want to venture away from Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V for a while. It'll be good for you. I promise. You obviously have the ability to illustrate. You need to start taking chances and create some narratives instead of simple repeating visuals.

If you're not full of great narratives/ideas, some people like to collaborate. And they usually do pretty well. Two heads are better than one as they say.

Sorry, can't vote for this one. But you've got my vote if you take a chance next time. Good luck!

thanks for the critique, and yes, I do need to find a less confusing middle ground, although with this one the number of elephants also causes confusion, which is kind of good since it is a stampede after all

It is amazing how you managed to get this to look like there is actual light reflecting from the mice eyes. I just can't get over the effects.

So many winner-quality entries this derby!! I'd place a bet that this is going to be one of the winners.
Good Luck! (oh, and GMV, too)

Beautiful work! As soon as I saw the title, I knew it was an Ellison reference - I haven't read him in m any many years. Unfortunately he creeps me out. But this design is kinda creepy - which I assume was the intent! - so it is very fitting

That's okay, can't please all the folks, all the time. Thanks for your complimentary assessment of my illustrating abilities, I'd be glad to collaborate - but for the next month I'll be busy moving cross-country. When we get where we're going, I'll be back and happy to work with people who are more familiar with areas other than the left side of the shirt ; ) - and don't forget the turtles from the dessert derby - I should've stopped typing at the smiley, huh?

Re: Not again!!

I think this gets the point across - in a sans text way - just as you were trying to accomplish.

My hesitation, however, is: would I want to walk around with that on my chest? Not that it is objectionable in any way, just not either eye-pleasing enough or funny enough ... know what I am trying to say?
