I love this shirt and got one.

well now half of woot knows...
Fairly clever. The bit with the feathered hat is actually a historical reference - I believe there is a statue of Alexander the Great wearing one, and generally speaking you'll see Mercury wearing the same. Oh yeah - and for you French comic-strip fans, there's always Asterix the Gaul! The only difficulty, therefore, is that it would be Da Vinci "inventing" something that had been around for a _long_ time. If I only had the money (sob!)
I was afraid it would be sold out before I finalized my decision, so I just bought one. I figured if I change my mind later on, I can trade it on teetrade :D.
seagoon wrote:Oh, my gosh... since Halloween, the shirts have just gotten worser and worserer. This is total garbage.
Speak for yourself. I beg to differ.
Oh heck yes! This one is awesome!
my fav design thus far... i'm in for one...
In for 2... Goes well with my Gameboy one. :D
nice design.
This is awsome :D
Funny cuz it's a leader shell (flying machine, yes?) AND it looks hella like DaVinci Stuff. I wasn't going to, but out of respect for the artiste, I'ma get one. This'll be a good nerd shirt to have. And I hope the Escher one wins tomorrow. Cuz I'll get it too. Well, done, sir.
had to get it. couldn't risk waiting until morning.
In for one
You buy shirts from shirt.woot... people know.

I'd say the people born in the late 70's early 80's had the best video game years ever, and literally grew up from start to what it is today.
I waited up for this one. Great shirt!
hoorah for the blue turtle shell shirt! I guess this probably rules out the Durer turtle. I love that its a Mario shirt without an obvious use of the characters. Not a fan of the Mario Rembrandt one - so many more creative shirts in the derby. and cool to know we're going to get a Tetris one. Though I personally prefer the Mondrian, I think Escher has more fanboys... we'll see.
Nasty73Z wrote:That is a "paratroopa" shell from super mario bros. game for those that don't know. You can search google to see picks of them. Awesome shirt! Really tempted for this to be my first shirt.woot!
More specifically this is a blue shell from Mario Kart.
Nope! Wrong. It's a blue shell from Mario Kart.
As much as i feel like jumping on the bandwagon and buying this shirt. I wont, because none of my friends would know what it is.
First shirt.woot purchase! Definitely picked a winner!
Is that a typo in the description?

Durer was ruled out yesterday when it didn't finish in the fog. I actually really like the Mario shirt. Sure it's Mario, but it's still quite subtle. Not sure if it works well on a shirt in my opinion, but it would make a fantastic print.
too bad no one posted a metal slug shirt
got one too! very nice!!!!! made me post two times llo
In for two -- thanks to everyone that voted for this! I thought that it was far and away the most beautiful design, but my tastes don't always coincide with the Woot! crowd...

Get new friends! And then buy it! YEAH!
Does anyone else not really think Tetris when they look at those shirts? I saw this shirt and though Mario, and brought back memories and I knew I wanted it. I see the Tetris shirts but don't feel that way at all, just a cool design is all I see, nothing really connects to me and stands out as "tetris" like the Mario ones do.
Who cares what your friends think? You're buying it for you, not them. :D This is a great design and if I had the money I'd be all over it. I need another video game shirt in creme. :/

I don't think I've personally come across any real human like design of Mario. I mean other than the show I saw as a kid, heheh... Thats why I was drawn to it. Well, to be honest, at first I didn't like it but the more I think about it the more I prefer it.
Absolutely awesome! Sorry people who don't get one before sell out, I took 3! But they're not all for me, so don't get too mad. Record votes makes me think this is going to sell out...FAST! I'll be interested to see in the morning when I wake up when it sold out. Once again, kdeuce, Kudos! Best shirt in a long long time!
maybe I'll buy this shirt and tell my friends it's a design for Red Bull (gives you wings). Then I can secretly maintain my cool status and still remain closet nerd.
ZOMG I WANT ONE RIGHT NOW O:
Bought one Love the design....and I love Nintendo

I was born in the late 80's. I think I was in like 4th or 5th grade or so when the game came out. THe 64 was my first console though, I never saw a Super Nintendo until way later, even though I would've liked to have played one before the 64 came out.
First time woot, first time comment... This shirt is worth it. I'm going to be the hottest chick ever in this. EVER. I will wear it when I play shows and revel in my own awesomeness. :P
Cool shirt, just bought one. I bet this is sold out before my lunch time at work tomorrow.
