Re: Not So Quiet On The Western Front
This shirt is fantastic, GMV. Good luck!
Re: The Flea Has Cats Again
A big thank you for all the votes and comments. I'm feeling the love.
I'm also realizing that most Wooters probably are not super excited about having a giant revolting parasite displayed on their chest. Maybe a cute cartoony flea would've been more popular.
I'll see about having it printed elsewhere after 60 days, so if you'd like to be notified when it does, contact me with your email address by Personal Message on Woot, or email me at ReflectiveRobot@gmail.com

Love this one Great Idea!
Re: Pocket Dinosaur
Hiya James, I like it, I voted for it, good luck!
Re: Escorting Princess Dewdrop
I really enjoy your illustrative style. Perhaps the Woot majority isn't the demographic that is going to appreciate and desire your artwork as clothing, but there are definitely people and sites out there that would. Keep it up anyway! Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Re: Gentleman World-Eater
This is the only shirt in this derby, other than my own, that I would wear proudly. Hilarious... and Awesome!
Thanks again everyone for the support and comments. You guys are all so nice, and I'm very pleased that so many of you on here appreciate my work.
I enjoy putting these designs together every week, and while I would certainly love to get printed, I try to never look at the process of creating artwork as a waste. I'm new to the whole T-Shirt design scene, so I'm still learning the ins and outs, but I promise to always place my integrity as an artist first with anything I may design. And if it does win, cool, if not, I know I tried my best.
Thank you all again!
Re: Music Transfer Service (resub)
YES! GMV! The only shirt in this whole derby I would actually buy. I really hope this one wins.
D1C0M wrote:The thought crossed my mind, because I really liked this as well.
The only thing is, I was just unsure if woot rejected it due only to the similarity to another shirt or if they felt it was some sort of copyright infringement. If it was only that it was similar, I'm secure in the fact that I came up with the idea myself and it was mere coincidence that there was another shirt like it. But if it was for copyright reasons, I don't think I need that hassle.
Finally, I would once again like to thank everyone who voted and liked this design. This design and the warm reception to it is a real confidence booster for me. Since September, when I first started this whole shirt derby thing, most of my designs have gathered 10-15 votes if I'm lucky. The other two designs that I have up this week are typical for me so far. Needless to say I was getting pretty bummed. But now I have hope, so for that, I want to thank everyone's support.
I love this shirt! I'm so sad it's gone. I might need to buy myself a red balloon to feel better.

I don't know what happened with the 100x100 image that should show up when a post is made. Anyone know how to fix that??
I completely heart this shirt! I think what sells it for me are the toes....
Re: The Dandy Lion
The elephant with the red balloon got rejected because it was too similar to existing shirts. This one is obviously very similar to existing shirts (whether intentional or not). Shouldn't the same rules apply? Or do they judge rejections based on individual designers. Seems like a black and white issue to me.
[when a shirt doesnt win, where do people sell them at? I would love to have some of the ones that just don't make it into the fog but I can't seem to find them anywhere else.
best shirt. should win, but probably won't. people only vote for squids or octopi.
Re: Miniature Golf-er
It's worth a chuckle, but not a vote. If you submitted this shirt just to get a laugh, I would say job well done.
Re: The Straw That Broke the Camels Back
how is this off topic? It is a tiny camel.
Oh, and simply, designers leave if they get insulted to the degree that they do on this site by folks who have no manners whatsoever. We have already lost old derby winners (and printed entries) already, like fan-favorite Jimiyo (and Cho for a while), who got printed but moved to other less fan aggressive t-shirt sites.
Just wanted to comment that if designers really leave because they are feeling insulted... let them leave. A lot of the flak seems to come from those who think the only way to shine is by blowing out the brightest candles. If a designer is too sensitive to this phenomena, they may want to pursue another hobby or reduce the quality of their work. With that said, I think there are some designers (not cho) who kinda beg to be insulted due to their egotism.
Nicely done! All the shirts in the Fog are great! Good luck! GMV
Re: [url=http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=24647]The Ant
Last minute, but GMV! Great idea!
Very creative design with the bee's! Too funny, GMV!
Eggsellent Design! GMV
I think he's willing to take that risk.
Thank you for your valued input, ridiculously ignorant of common pop-culture phrases as it may be. I'm sure the artist really appreciates you letting him know about this small but discriminated against demographic.
No, really. Same applies to fireants. I specifically chose just a regular ant for my piece because to depict a fireant would of course require the ant to be aflame, which wouldn't work well in the snowy environment.
Kwatson29 wrote:Last minute, but GMV! Great idea!
thanks! 23 votes away from breaking 300, every vote is appreciated!
I like this sirt a lot but the brown back wall makes it looks wrong when viewed on the actual shirt. Without that I'd probably get 2.

all i can say is WHATEVER to jamescho- i lost respect for him after his rant on the dinosaur pocket shirt-
Re: People of the Fireflies
I would love to wear this shirt. I don't normally go for the really 'complicated' designs (as I don't really want people to spend a long time staring at my chest- and be giving them a viable excuse to do so)... but I love this one. It's subtle, and it makes me smile. Which is a great combination. It also makes me a little sad too- can't really explain that one. So I guess I find this shirt bittersweet.
It's pretty. I'm a girl- I'm allowed to like pretty shirts. I like it, I want it, I will definitely buy it.
I really like this shirt, and hope it gets back into the fog (and wins, of course!) I hope it prints the perfect amount of subtle, because I like when people have to take a second look at my shirts. =) Good luck!
mrtonyclifton wrote:best shirt. should win, but probably won't. people only vote for squids or octopi.
I guess this explains the fog...
and i really really REALLY like this shirt- it's going to be suspenseful until the deadline today! it's pretty close . . .
Re: I cant believe im smaller than a shirt!!
I had to vote for this.
Re: The Grinch
i'd hold off on the resubmit until you had the topic covered, because it's a good shirt as long as it's in olive.. although the blue is pretty, just inaccurate.
Re: Let it show, let it snow
Looks like a close race! This one GMV to get it back fogged. I really like this and I would probably buy it for my 3-yr old if it prints.
AdderXYU wrote:This comment proves why you people are so wrong.
You are a detriment to this community, with general, blanket insults to every other member *far* too often, including these derogatory jabs at the majority of voters, and generally a lack of knowledge of what the site actually likes, art, or even general topics under discussion. Simple post volume and "all caps" yelling does not make you more of an expert then anybody else.
Once or twice saying something as generally offensive as this would be understandable, but this kind of widespread "you are all idiots" post every single derby at whichever piece you decide to deride (usually one of the more popular pieces), simply has gotten old.
The once or twice you actually pointed out a significant breach of rules has been drowned by your "cry wolf" volume of insults, pointless badgering of the contributors, and inability to accept that not everyone has your opinion on what they want to wear on their own torso.

As depressing as your reply is, it might be the only solution in some cases. Too many people are using the anonymity of the internet to act poorly. I think there is a fine line between the artist being overly sensitive, and being personally and repeatedly insulted for no clear reason.
Honestly, I find the majority of the artists who get insulted are not acting poorly at all, which dilutes the ones who are actually cheating/being poor sports/etc...
Gonna be a shame to go find my t-shirts from some favorite artists at a more expensive, less comfortable site.
(Side note: I love my clockwork orange shirt! Well done!)
Ovaltina, my goat that is the best design ever. Wish it could gain the momentum at the end to place top three also loved the stuff you posted to flicker.
I hope this comes back in the honorable mention lists. I would wear this shirt with pride and a big grin.
12sunflowers wrote:all i can say is WHATEVER to jamescho- i lost respect for him after his rant on the dinosaur pocket shirt-
You should give him a little bit of a break. He is harassed every week on this site, by random people who spend too much time on this site. Anyone would start to lose their patience after a certain amount of time.

No kidding! Based on the way the derbies usually run, a shirt popping in and out of 4th place usually doesn't make it to print. But this shirt has been dancing with pocket dinosaur for 4th and 5th, now for the first time the snowflake has fallen into 5th, meaning that this shirt, snowflake, and dinosaur are all within just a few votes. This could make it to print yet!!!
