Re: Lion's Pride

I really liked this at first glance, but then I read the comments and the misshapen nose stuck out to me; now it went from a "must vote for, must buy" shirt to one that I'll probably pass on ...

Who in the blue-hell would voluntarily walk around wearing a shirt that has a piece of toilet paper on it?

Love it. Thus far this is the only shirt that's got my vote.

I'm guessing the sin is wrath? The sin name needs to be in the title or it will get rejected.

I like how the clock is melting in the beam of the television. The spacing feels a little too wide for me but then again I'm a skinny dude and this would end up under my armpits in the print.

i'm absolutely convinced after this derby that there MUST be a forum somewhere on al gore's internets where a membership base of saboteurs reside, wrecking havoc on art contests worldwide. one of the forum topics is, of course, shirt.woot, where they pick the worst designs or most un-wearable ummm, carp, and collectively vote it into the fog and keep it there. I'd call them a.sswipes.com, but that'd be too polite. congrats to andrewc for being this week's selection.

Hehe. Yeah I'd be pretty disturbed if I saw a 5-year old wearing this! Love the design, though

I second the idea of bumping the toilet paper out of the fog. I have Fire Dancer and love it! I hope you rise to the fog in record time.

yeah, it looks like binary 0's and 1's, so it's gonna get disqualified. the design would be better if the dissolving would be simple pixels, instead.

I had friends (daughters) who refused to put the paper roll on the roller. Mom created a "special picnic lunch flyer" advertising fun, games and food and featuring instructions on how to put the toilet paper on the roller. It was passive aggressive, yes, but I thought it was hilarious.

And if this prints, by golly, their mom is getting this T-shirt for Christmas.

So, yes, there is market for lowest-common denominator tees.

Re: The Pride of Lucifer

this was my first idea for this derby, but i did it last. i tried funny and artsy, now i'm going for badass. inspired by an illustration by Gustav Dore from Paradise Lost. possibly the most well known example of pride, Lucifer's fall from grace. thanks for looking.

now wait just a damn minute! I've been waiting for Keelmy's design to be submitted so i can vote for it. She first submitted for critique the image at http://shirt.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=2772821 at 12:30 am on nov. 21st.

it's too close to be coincidence, especially considering you commented in the same thread.....

Actually, I think you're right. I was thinking of doing a resub with my original idea of including the television light. I think I will resub, but with a smaller image as you pointed out. Thanks for the feedback.

Slothy sloth:

Here is the Deal - For One.. I never saw that post. This was my Original idea when The Seven Deadly sins theme was released. Then.. I thought.. OH WAIT.. EVERYONE is going to do a sloth.. being lazy.. because its the most obvious and generic unoriginal idea. I admit to this. And look.. everyone did a sloth... So I spent some more time brain storming instead of jumping to the first idea and came up with the Cathedral of Lust - So I have conjunctivitis and stayed in on a friday night.. and was bored, so I played with my original sketch and created my little sloth being lazy.. and posted him for fun. That is my story. I am sticking to it. I'm sure everyone thought of Sloth.. being a sloth.. just not everyone acted on it. The End.

Re: Bottle Cap Greed

Hey everyone,
This is my first shirt.woot entry. First thing that came to mind with the derby is greed, and who better than to commit the sin than our always smiling Vault Boy aka Pip-boy. Those who aren't familar with Fallout, those are bottlecaps he is hording for they are the currency used.
Constructive criticism is always welcome. =D

Thank you,
