Re: And His Head Swelled With Pride

I hope more people are voting for this...I REALLY love this shirt. I have no idea why it isn't in the top 7 yet.

I bought stuff. Imagine that stuff listed here.
After years of trying, I finally got that Big ol' Cornucopia. Oddly enough, it was filled with..crap. Now that's truth in advertising!

That would be sweet. I have only seen one shirt for sale on wine.woot, but then again I haven't been around that long.

I knew that "grapes of wrath" wouldn't be the most original idea, but I figured I might as well submit it since it doesn't have any chance of winning anyways ;)

Thanks for all of your votes and positive comments!

Kudos on not being cheery, Boots

Oh my! I think you've just cracked the code!

And I do want to be known as cheery. I just thought I'd mix it up a bit, throw in some snark with a little bit o' kink. I don't want to be boring.

chwala wrote:I like the design but I would love it on a different colored shirt. Maybe purple?

Unfortunately they don't have the option to do it on a purple shirt. The closest thing I guess would be the navy blue, but I don't think that would have worked as well. I thought about doing green grapes on a green shirt, but that didn't quite say "wrath" to me.

Nice! I thought about putting sunglasses on one of them, and that would have made them look even more like the 7UP dots.

I originally had chains wrapped around the characters to cover up what needed to be covered up, but I decided to not include them. If this did get booted for those reasons I would have re-submitted either that version or re-did it with the clothing you suggested.

I would love to see that!! Can you post it, just to see what it would look like with the chains?? Very Cool!!

joelterrific wrote:SydneyB, you've put your finger on it for me, I wouldn't wear this shirt, but it is on topic and is reasonably well done so I think it should stand. The voting exists so that the group can decide what should print and not print. It's not up to the Rejectorator.

That said, the decision to keep this around doesn't necessarily mean we'll always take this stand. Fortune favors the brave, but sometimes you'll get burned.

Joel, I am confused on what you call PG-13. There was a time when you would have rejected this just on the thumbnail. I realize that when you open a contest up to include t-shirts about lust, you have to be a bit more lenient. However, if I opened this picture up on my screen at work, I'd be called on the carpet about looking at MST3K reruns on company time. No, this isn't MST3K reruns. Far from it. But that's what they'd say. And Draxx's would certainly get that treatment, if not get me fired.

This squirrel's expression is hypnotizing! It's cute but I can't get past that neon green. It's just a little too distracting for me. But you did a very good job on that face!

You can only buy the shirt if it reaches top 3, or the artist takes the design elsewhere and sells it there.

Re: Wrath of a Linebacker!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I still think this is hilarious

David, if you have plans of resubbing in a future derby, I'd suggest messing with the soccer player's hair a little bit. I realize it's in disarray from the impact, but it just looks weirdly Einstenian to me as it is.

Maybe make the football player a little beefier, too. A contrast in size would make this funnier, or at least that's my guess. As it is, the guy looks like a kicker more than a linebacker.

I think it is a nice samurai design. But wrath? I don't see it. When I think of wrath, I imagine vengeance to the n^th degree. I think this shirt should be called "devotion to duty" or "fearlessness."

Wrath is a sin...something to be abhorred. Should the samurai be loathed? I don't see a sin with a samurai except perhaps pride (in the Western sense).

I probably wasn't around when it was put up originally, so I have no frame of reference as to any changes. With that being said though, I think this should have been put up sooner as I like it alot. It's a clean, simple and well executed design in my opinion. Good job. +

While I am also confused constantly by woot's PG13 rule (and by all the rules, especially the ones that are even more shoddily enforced), and while I don't think Drak's piece should be rejected (not that that means it would or wouldn't based on the random nature of which rules are upheld and how), I am always amazed by how many people woot on company time in general. I imagine if I owned a company, I'd be just as ticked at nudity as I would by playing scrabble or viewing adorable kittens or something else equally innocent.

If you're worried about something getting rejected, either don't submit, or don't complain if it does. If you're worried about getting fired for mistakenly viewing dirty material at work, the safest bet is to just do your work.

Re: Grapes of Wrath

Design wise, I think this is a home run. I really enjoy the design and would definitely get one if it were made. Although the only thing(s) that I don't like are either the size of the design compared to the shirt or the size and placement of it. But like I said, it's only the size of the design for me. BTW, all the facial detail is fantastic, good job!

What's with all the lime green? Your designs seem to often have this sickly lime green color on them or other unsettling color combinations.

I would call it more of an "Atomic Aqua Blue".... not realy a lime green, and I think it works on this design. It add's that needed pop!
