This is great, but to me it feels a little incomplete. I think if you would of added a few more background elements it may have set it off the whole thing better. Just a thought. Otherwise, I think it's great. I laughed, then ducked for fear of lightning bolts.

I absolutely love this! It's a fantastic visual. GMV, and I'll order at least two if your design wins. Well done.

DeadFrog wrote:Not at all. I try to design shirts that I would like to wear. I know the brushstrokes effect won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I have been wanting to do it for a while. With the simplicity of the image I feel like the missing parts only add visual interest to the design.

I see. I think the brush effect might have been better received had it been more relevant to the design rather than as just an added effect. Your illustrations have a strong enough impact and, at least for me, the brush strokes clash with the cleanness of the vector-look. Not saying I wouldn't use them in the future, but maybe you should break 'em out for a more fitting design instead.

Thanks for the critique. While I wouldn't say that the brushstrokes were an added effect--they were part of the plan for the shirt since the beginning--they were definitely a design decision rather than a conceptual one.

Ya know....I realize I already praised this but their expressions are what sells it. He is that stereotypical "male" figure - distraught, but too proud to admit he's lost. He's sure he knows exactly where they are, he just needs more time with the map. And the girlfriend has that nagging but sincere look. I think if you would have zoomed in on some detail in the comp and tidied it up a bit, this could have had a real shot. Oh, and maybe if you submitted it a little earlier.

Before you attack, I made this purely for my own amusement. Thought it would be fun to do a more dark/surreal design to go in with all of these shiny happy tshirts. I don't really expect you like it or vote it, but if you do, kudos to you.

GREAT book. not so great placement

I most recently rock out in Lust Is Like A Flame, but am almost always seen wearing Jimmy...Is That You?. In addition, I am the proud member of 26 total shirt.woots.

I'm not a huge fan of the shirt. But the snake cracks me up too. I think it's the fact that the snake kind of resembles a pile of poop.....or it could just be me.

Lemme be wooterish by praising yours and showing great disdain for all the other entries...

Your art is like Miss Universe, and most everyone else's is like the buck toothed, dry cracked ratty hair county beauty contestant with nasty moles and pimples, so I understand how all the other wooters who birthed their snaggled toothed contest entries would be vehemently against a true beauty like your art bustin up their party. They dont like your kind around here girl...

Anyways Im being stupid. Word to your mother.

I dig the style and color choices...just not a fan of the book. I wouldn't wear a shirt around that represented something I don't actually have an appreciation for. Nice job though and congrats on all the votes

This is HILARIOUS!! And if this is your first entry, I can't wait to see what else you come up with in future weeks! I voted, and would buy, for sure, because this is a great pun, and one in which a casual observer would "get" as well.

Good luck!!!
