Hi eHalcyon,
Wasn't mentioning it to win points with him, just a bit of catharsis. Boy that needed a snip badly, it felt like I was writing a book. Which reminds me: Good luck, Boots.

Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

This is my third Derby entry here at shirt.woot.

All the little fasteners are waiting their turn. And finally, the little screw gets to go for a ride.

that's the truth it's hard to say which one I like the best..this one is a neat design, also love Phantom Tollbooth, "Target Audience" inspired by "For Dummies" books, and the simple yet clever design of How to draw animals...plus lots of other...can't say I like the one fish two fish...
dragon shirt are cool..fish shirt...not so cool

I adore this.
The cycle of drawing is a really cool touch.
The somewhat cliche irony of a rabbit reproducing is not lost either :]

Agreed. I think I'd have made a hexagonal instead of square arrangement of circles, to echo the inner structure of each one, but it's quite lovely as is.

JenDupre wrote:Very pretty, but I would have 2 purple and 2 pink flowers. There were Christopher, Cathy, Cory and Carrie. And I think it's a printed too low on the shirt. When it's tucked in, you miss most of it.

Seconded on both counts, though the fact that one small flower is wilting so makes up for the color issue. Maybe it's just the POV flower that's pink?

I like the design and composition a lot. Only trouble is, I think I'd be too creeped out by it to actually buy and wear it.

SydneyB wrote:Hmm, Frodo looks like he is being crucified....

BTW, Lord of the Rings is not a book title. It is the name of the Trilogy.
1. The Fellowship of the Ring
2. The Two Towers
3. The Return of the King.

Actually, it's far more a single book than any other trilogy of my acquaintance. Tolkien wanted it as one book, but it was just too big, so the original publisher split it up. It's not as if there are proper beginnings and endings at the internal breaks.

In another sense, it's six internal 'books', which are generally printed two per book-shaped-object, but I have a seven-volume set (the last is the appendices...)

[Also, crucified? Totally appropriate for a Christ figure....]

Immediately after I submitted my first version, I thought this one would look better. My other idea just didn't come across the way I wanted. The first version really needs text to work, I think...

I don't. As byrbwr said, it's boring and unoriginal. Pointless paint effects won't make me vote for it unlike 90% of the rest of voters, nor do I want to explain to people why I'm wearing a lion, witch, and wardrobe on my chest. Because it's like the title of the book, get it?!?!

Re: Inspired by How to Draw 101 Animals

I don't get it...nothing really seems "re-interpreted" to me about this, and using a drawing book as your illustration frankly comes off as a little...lazy.

The pencil looks like you pulled it off of Vectorstock or one of those other royalty-free vector illustration sites. If its not, pretty good attention to detail but I think it might have been better spent coming up with a more creative execution or idea.

Well, I'm glad you did click. I was trying to think of what to put for the detail and decided on the balloon. Also, I put the Seuss hat likeness there so that people would get it quicker that the image is a depiction of something Seuss. Thanks for the comments, but with only 4 votes, I think you're probably right about the detail pic.
