Re: Cheer Up! She Found You.

I really love the story you've created in this design. This is by far the best design submitted in this derby. Congrats! If it doesn't print submit it somewhere else please... It deserves to be printed somewhere.

Its not just about that though. In this competition users submit shirt designs and the votes show which shirt people would buy the most of. I would rather have this blank shirt than any other shirt I have seen on this derby, and I think there are other people who would too.

I don't see the harm in seeing who else would prefer a blank shirt.

You drew a square and a rectangle on a previously rejected shirt design, if you could even call it a design. I would love to hear why you believe you should win the derby and be paid for this. Sorry man sounds to me like you're in serious need of money...

Who says Sheneron is a kid? You make no sense to me Taylort5.

Anyway, this is a lovely shirt, shame the previous was rejected.

Once again, I love cats, and that's why this shirt GMV!

Nice idea, but im afraid it hasn't come out well.
Maybe you could flesh out the lines a bit?
Or make the dog look more vicious? I dunno but it needs something.

Yes I agree it doesn't look quite right... I wish I had the time to work on it more. I'm not a very good drawer of humans, so i thought i'd be safest sticking (no pun intended) with the stick figure. I tried the idea in several different lights, but this seemed the best one. I do wish it had come out better

Re: Easy Optimism

This shirt makes me feel very optimistic. I have absolutely NO artistic talent (regardless of how artistic or talent are defined), but I now feel I could win a derby. I have had a lot of shirt designs ideas but thought they would have no chance because of my inability to represent them in an attractive or interesting way.

You'll do it, you'll win, and I think Adder's head will spontaneously explode.

Adder, you DO realize that if you spent a tenth of the time you do rambling about art and carrying out vendettas against all that is crude and unworthy of T-shirts on shirt.woot on your T-shirt designs, I think you might just be able to save us. SAVE US, ADDER! Save us from mediocrity! Save us from stick figures and scared food and cutesy manga animals and all of this TERRIBLE TERRIBLE work. I know you can do it. I believe in you. Don't let me down!!! Then again, I guess we, being the heathens we are, are not worthy of your immense blessings of skill and dexterity in T-shirt design. No wonder you haven't submitted anything recently. Shirt.woot just isn't good enough for your work.

I really really really like this new style you have found Ms. Boots. It has kind of a Gorey feel to it, but it has a more "positive" or maybe "lighter" feel. Please keep on this new track.

It doesn't invalidate anything as long as he doesn't try to defend his use of stick figures. He didn't. In fact, he used it just to poke fun at a relatively terrible derby theme.

As for his comments on his own stick figure design... well, reading the last one made me think he was just being facetious, though the rest of the comments... I don't know. Meh.

I know you said you were kidding, but I'll step in and say it's pretty obviously a highlight.

With that said, literally the ONLY thing I can talk about on the shirt that even approaches criticism is that the arm holding the bag is wonky. I know it was pointed out before, but I don't know what you did with it, if anything.

if theres ever a derby competition entitled "sadistic killers" you should enter something very similar except with the smile-face-bag already on the guys head and the smiling dude is choking the other dude out who is struggling.

how evil would THAT be.

After looking over a couple other "stick figure" shirts, this is the only one (far as I can tell) that actually pulled it off. There are plenty of other legitimately lazy ones though.

Pretty (and not lazy either) ...but I think you failed in your concept of the theme.

Thankfully the fan club may not attack me as much this round as I am not the only one who seems to feel this way. It took me a while to get it, and once I did it seemed very clever, but unrelated to "optimism". I like your style, though. And this shows you put some effort behind it.

I get the impression you had this idea (and maybe design) prior and just applied it to this particular competition in the hopes that people would immediately "get" it. Also why is there a paint line on the bottom of this shirt in the preview? It looks like you already used the t-shirt as a background but it appears that there is still more of the paint fill below the preview? (See bottom left corner)

DavidShenoda wrote:No offense, but the colors are pretty bad. Instead of complimenting each other they're working against one another. It's a good concept and drawing, though. You should resubmit it with colors that are closer to each other and also keep in mind the shirt color as well when/if you decide to change it. I'm still voting for it just for reppin' Marley on here. I'm sure we're the minority, as far as music artists/genres that wooters go for, but it's refreshing to see a like-minded soul around these parts now and again. Keep it up, and don't worry about the sheriff. It's the deputy you gotta keep an eye on.

This concept wasnt about color. But since you decided to talk about it, the colors I chose were supposed to be representative of 70's retro-style coloring. I wouldn't change it for the world. I didnt make this design to please everyone on here. I made because I enjoyed it. Dont vote for it just because I represented Marley after you bashed the colors. Next time, I will e-mail you my design and let you put in the color since you know so much.
