Strange colour combination though. XP

it's a very classic color combo:
Ties look slick, Baby Rooms look muted and soft, even Wedding Cakes look very high end in the color combo. I think it works very well.
He certainly looks dapper in it ;)

Although I obviously can't prove that my sketch existed far before I saw Sekiyoku's entry for this week, you'll have to take my word for it. I had company yesterday, and my wisdom teeth were removed this morning, so this design was a little late in production. Composition-wise, I can see how you would make the connection, and I had my own qualms about submitting my version due to a shocking number of submissions along the same line. However, stylistically, they all diverge radically, so I eventually sent it through. I guess it's simply the case of similarities within flowing designs!

In other news, I'm glad you guys approve of the bizarre color choice. Thanks to those who helped me choose! Also, heartluce-- I'm glad to "see" you as well. I've been away for quite a while, but it's finally winter break! So I'm alive again. And a belated thank you to those who commented on my last design (which I didn't get to comment on).

I like how the colors do make it a subtle design. If you resub, you still gmv. I look sickly in yellow so that's not my first choice. (Even though Lemon is the New Asphalt! ahuhu) Still a great design

I've bought cooler shirts than you.

eHalcyon wrote:This is very cute, but the blurriness of the larger image worries me. It looks like it might be due to resizing the image up. Did you make sure to create the image at a higher resolution first? If it makes it to print, you need to be ready to submit a 16"x20" 300 dpi print ready file.

I quite like the design though.

My thoughts exactly. Very cute but hoping it wasn't drawn on a default 640x480 canvas. If you take advantage of all the allowed horizontal space your image should be 4800 pixel wide.

No, it doesn't.

Actually, since you're bringing that up, Sekiyoku's butterfly looks mysteriously similar to Mitohapa's printed "Against the Sky" shirt here.

Seriously? Like EXACTLY the same? Wow... yes, this was my own concept, albeit simple, I am shocked to learn it already exists... post a pic of the logo if you can, will ya?

I had no idea that it was against the rules to use a slight variation in color for thumbnails, even though I show the t-shirt color on the comp, and I can't find anywhere in the specs that say that my shirt is illegal.

It doesn't say that specifically. It just had to be continuous. It just said that they should only be able to see 2 ends to the lines. I think that just implies that there shouldn't be any MORE than 2 ends, not that it couldn't be one connected line.

Submissions page. Below the field for the design detail image, click on the "What?" link. It says:

What do you mean by "design detail"?
The design detail is an image of your design on a solid background of one of the shirt.woot base colors.

It's also listed in the "unofficial derby rules" compiled by derekfilley. Woot's not the best at providing all the rules, so it's the best thing we've got.

I mentioned it before, but I really like how you managed to render an entire tiger so well with just one line-- and your line weight variation is lovely; it really generates a sense of atmosphere. And personally, I like the girl. She adds narrative!
