So the background color of the comp doesn't matter, just the thumbnail?

Actually, it is one line, but it will still be rejected for the extra color used to fill in the heart.

Thanks! That'd be tight with the gold foil or metallic ink. Maybe I'll pitch another to woot as a daily, since 1) they won't use special inks for derby entries, and 2) this doesn't look like it'll print anyway.

I like this one. The space it takes up on the shirt is good. Really good.

I think this looks really great. I think I'd prefer a center chest placement and the face gets lost in there a little, but it's not enough to stop me from voting.

Re: Start2Think Outside The Box

Unfortunately, both your "T" and "h" in "Think" have retraced portions which will cause it to be rejected. And the t's in "start" look like they possibly have retraced portions; it's difficult to tell. You may want to fix those and resubmit.

Is that a 51, as in Area 51? Dude, Area 51 is in Nevada. But that is roughly where Roswell is located in the state. My parents live in Roswell, so I'd buy this for one of more of my boys... I bet all the souvenir and t-shirt shops downtown would sell it! (well, if you fixed that 51...)

Wonderful design! I think it's Woot!-related, though. Not sure they'll be happy about having their secret printing techniques plastered all over a bunch of shirts.

oh noes, not cafepress....their shirts are garbage quality.

I love everything about this shirt.
I just can't see wearing it.
Also I dislike the color...
... and the graphic.

After my first ever entry got such a good reception I thought I'd try another one.
I'm pretty late with this but I wanted to give it a go anyway.
Please vote if you like it and give me all the critique you can come up with.
The line never crosses itself.

I like it better without the varied lines (I would, mine doesn't vary either). Not that I don't like that style, I just think it works for some designs and not others. I also acknowledge that varied lines are harder to do, but you shouldn't do them if you don't need to.

It'll be time to move on when woot actually addresses this matter openly. As for you, ChefRAZ, thanks for keeping the protest alive. woot failed miserably here.

Also, your detractors are idiots

Yes. I also appreciate that, as far as I can tell, this designer did not go back over any lines whatsoever.

Wow. I've purchased several woot tees and never participated in the woot derbies but this is the sickest shirt I've yet seen on the site. I sincerely hope you win so that I have the opportunity to buy one.

Good Luck!

eHalcyon wrote:Neat. I like the googles and feel like it should have a snorkel as well, just to complete the image (or does it have one? I can't really tell). I think the bubbles from the mouth could use some work too, but the fish itself is very nicely detailed.

Be careful with that shirt comp, as it looks like you're placing the design outside of woot's printable area. If you download woot's official template, it includes a bounding box that gives you a general idea of where they can print. Unofficially, they can print up to about an inch away from any seams.

Actually, a friend of mine recommended I put a snorkel in before I submitted, but I just couldn't figure out a way to make it look right in there. Shirt comp was more meant to suggest it being slightly off center, but it shouldn't reach any seams. I probably pushed it too far :p

Thanks for the suggestions
