I'd be willing to bet it is a Discworld reference. At least I hope it is.

This is great. Especially if you know a little of the history of the creation of Batman. Bob Kane got some of his ideas from Di Vinci for his character. Partly because he once said that if man could fly, he would like a bat. Then we have his drawings of his flying machine.. put a man there.... you have batman.... and now this really cool design.

Still. This is a great design. I love it.

Thanks, that looks completely awesome. I love Batman, I love Da Vinci, I love Mike Mignola. I'll have to see if I can procure a copy off of ebay. Is it actually Da Vinci as Batman, or some old world Bruce Wayne?

vequinox wrote:These sheep are super cute. I'm only concerned because of the placement - as a female, they'd be placed a bit...curiously upon my chest.

But that three-headed sheep is 3x adorable.

Well it should be placed right on top of our chests, so I don't think it will be that weird. xD

I like the idea of Cerbaaahrus. :p

Oh and we would be invaded by furry aliens looking like bunnies and quickly overrun, quickly enslaved and used to farm carrots in order to feed the massive space bunny army.

But seriously one of these days people are gonna give you and your shirts the recognition they deserve. but hopefully BEFORE the aforementioned bunny invasion.

GMV!!

Aww... thanks. I hope this bunny invasion happens soon. It sounds exciting. I could use some excitement (even if I have to farm carrots).

dang, I've been trying and trying to remember the name. That's it, but again, the whole earth on a turtle's back is very, very old mythology, from all over- Native Americans, Asia, more.

OH MY GOD!

I would TOTALLY BUY THAT. AWESOME.

How do we petition to have it un-rejected?!

If woot won't print it, get Cafe Press to print it. I'll buy it!

this is woot's way of not letting ramyb absolutely rule the derbies every week. take one off they say. don't try so hard they say. ramyb is the derby juggernaut and i can't wait for next week's design.

I believe they also axed mary with the pill. But political idiocy doesn't look at facts unless someone is shouting them, so I BELIEVE THEY ALSO AXED MARY WITH THE PILL!

palmettogirl wrote:The reactions to this shirt are making me better understand why cheesy and terrible shirts always seem to win. If it is as it seems and a large number of you aren't familiar enough with art history to recognize Van Gogh or at least his style of art (which isn't obscure by any stretch of the imagination) then I shouldn't be so shocked by what so often wins in the derbies. With that being said, I am pretty freaking ecstatic that this is in the fog and hope that I get to wear it soon.

Granted, I'm too lazy to go look at this stuff, but I think people are concerned about the "style" of the art because of how it's going to print, not out of some ignorance.
