It's just a sheep with three heads, with not a whole lot going on. And apparently the other sheep thinks with their rear end. Just not quite clicking for me.

Interesting, but there's no way that's incidental text, so I'm pretty sure it'll be nuked before long.

Well, it's got Edgar 1st, tgentry 2nd, this 3rd, and geekfactor 4th.

I know it's wrong, though, because it assumes geekfactor's vote count is only one above 5th place. It kept assuming that even after Mona was rejected, and that made its estimated vote count go down. Rejecting things from the fog really messes this stuff up.

why is that?

nothing against you, pepper. ive noticed others saying the same of other entries as well.

This is such an excellent execution of the idea. My one complaint is that there are some people who think this is the real story, not alternate history. But that has nothing to do with the artist.

Good job!!

I'm a long-time lurker, posting just now, and I'm familiar w/ image copyright law. I know you're fine with this one. Great shirt, great work, so unless your submission signs an implicit contract w/ Woot or something totalitarian like that, take it to CafePress or sell it somewhere else. Don't let your idea die here!!!

P.S. No words. I think it works in a lovely way without words.

picasserole wrote:You are meant to see many additional colours but what you're expected to understand Heartline Twist, is that the extra colours are just an illusion. The illusion is accomplished by juxtaposing the appropriate colours in correct proportion to each other. Here are the 6 colours required for a satisfactory print as per the above design:
1/ Black, 2/ Royal( tee colour ), 3/ Grey, 4/ Ochre, 5/ Light Blue, 6/ White.

The six colours don't include the tee - so you could have an unofficial "seventh".

Not understanding what you mean by "juxtaposing proportions" - are you overlaying colours and changing opacity? Because that isn't allowed - everything must be solid with no partial transparency. The best you could do to mix colours is to combine halftones, but that's tricky - and if that was your intent in this design, then your halftones are far too small to be printed.

i would be happy to share why i said this, with no animosity. ive been watching since derby one, and i also happen to be damn near autistic when it somes to statistics in my head. now, it is NOT impossible to achieve a win on a design submitted on a monday morning, but your odds suck. from experience, this design in particular (now dont get offended designer cause im bout to be brutal) is good in alot of ways but it is 5th-8th place good. it will not win a print because 1. there are alot of people that pick a favorite or two on day one and stick with it, or never look again.
2. there are already dino designs, so the first ones up get the dino + cute vote.
3. this designer isnt well known (yet) so they dont have the "friend" vote.
4. based on my many many weeks of watching a derby, i can usually tell you on monday who is and is not gonna be fogged at the end.
now im not going to share everything i know, mostly because if some of these regulars ever caught on they would completely frag up my stats ahuhu.
i hope this answered your question.

Not understanding, or reading too quickly perhaps? F.Y.I., O.P. colours are a given in the present context, which is why I made no mention of the fact. You also failed to notice that one of the six colours I listed, has sitting alongside it in parentheses, 'tee-shirt colour'. Think thusly dude, an aggregation of pixels, at a suitable resolution( I'll leave that for you to guess ), variously coloured( as per my 6 colour pallette ), sitting adjacent to one another and blending a bit at the edges, if printed right, thereby creating the impression of additional colours, hues, and tonal variations. That's the last from me on this topic, so don't anyone else bother to query the colour issue as it shan't illicit a response, not from me that is. Over and Out!!!

I was only informing you that you could have used one more colour, since you only named five (the shirt colour doesn't count as one of the six).

If you were doing it with pixels only, that also wouldn't be printable, as it would be too small for the silkscreen. If you made it large enough, I doubt that the effect would be the same. The mix would probably be noticeable, although I wonder how noticeable. Might end up looking neat anyway.

Sorry if my comment offended you. You clearly have artistic talent but it sounded like you misunderstood some of the technical requirements for printing, so I just wanted to help you out for next time. I still don't think that this design would have been printable, but I hope you submit something again using a similar technique (and a less rejectable idea ) so that we can get Woot's word on whether or not they can print it. In that vein, you should submit the hi-res print-ready file immediately so that they can verify right away - otherwise, they'll reject it according to what is visible in the shirt comp (i.e. more than 6 colours).

Good luck next time.
