Thanks dude, now I have a chance of making the cut at noon Friday. One last time on the previous topic( bear with me here ), I've been producing and preparing graphics for the various print media, for longer than I care to remember, so trust me on this one and yes, I did upload the finished art along with the tee comp etc. and thanks once again;]

Excellent. GMV.

2. there are already dino designs, so the first ones up get the dino + cute vote.
3. this designer isnt well known (yet) so they dont have the "friend" vote.
4. based on my many many weeks of watching a derby, i can usually tell you on monday who is and is not gonna be fogged at the end.
now im not going to share everything i know, mostly because if some of these regulars ever caught on they would completely frag up my stats ahuhu.
i hope this answered your question.

No worries about offending me Pepper. I've been watching the derby for a bit now and kinda knew my chances of being fogged were slight when i submitted this design Sunday. I just hope that its a good enough debut for me to introduce myself and my style to everyone for future submitions =D.

Thanks to everyone again for your amazing support!

Who said I didn't know about cloned sheep? There's no reason to be insulting about it. I was just saying without the title there's not a whole lot in the design to suggest that sheep was cloned at all. If you can point to anything in the design other than the title that says that's a cloned sheep please do. It could just as easily be a sheep mutated at birth like a turtle with two heads. It could be Cerebus the Sheep for all we know. Without the title there's really no history at all in this design, and even with the title the alternate idea isn't all that solid since most attempts at cloning animals really do result in mutations. The only alternate thing is how extreme the mutation is, which hardly counts as alternate, just a varying degree of the same thing. Just my two cents.

RedFedora wrote:I'm a long-time lurker, posting just now, and I'm familiar w/ image copyright law. I know you're fine with this one. Great shirt, great work, so unless your submission signs an implicit contract w/ Woot or something totalitarian like that, take it to CafePress or sell it somewhere else. Don't let your idea die here!!!

P.S. No words. I think it works in a lovely way without words.

Thank you for de-lurking. I really appreciate your support.

It turns out that the piece I've referenced and modified is either public domain or an abandoned work. After digging for what at least felt like forever I was unable to uncover an artist credit or a date. Even the sites that sell it as a print have no one to credit it to and, at best, list the artist as unknown.

I have not yet decided what to do with it. I have seriously considered re-rendering it, even knowing that my illustrative style lacks the grace and depth of the design as it now stands.

Submission to the Derby entails a 60-day exclusive to Woot. I'm not sure if being rejected wholly cancels it. So It will be a little while before I offer it (in any form) for sale.

If you want to keep tabs on it, feel free to visit my deviantart gallery (linked in sigline).

And I tend to agree about not having the words. It reads fine without, even if the title is a tad amusing too.

Again, thank you RedFedora.

Well, the only sheep I can think of that's well known is Dolly. That's why I think it's not really a stretch outside of the derby. The fact that the two sheep have the same main face helps with that, I hope.

In terms of alternate history, Dolly is known for being a successful cloning experiment. Not so here. :p

Now you're just asking for Adder to make a jab at you. =\

I agree with female that there's not much tying this to Dolly. Just because Dolly is the only famous sheep doesn't mean that a person on the street will think of Dolly immediately. I would just think it was a sheep - being on a shirt doesn't mean it has to be a well known clone. As a suggestion, you might add a scientist in a lab coat in the background looking distraught or bemused. =)

After watching this one on the charts all week, I think -- regardless of what SDS might say or whatever "Best Loser" award might have already been given -- that this will pull second, behind Columbus. Regardless of its position on the chart, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't print at this point, honestly.

I actually thought Adder would jump on the sheep with brains in their hind regions. :P

Yeah, I think with no title there's nothing to make this Dolly, or a clone of any kind. I think I'd be explaining a lot why I have a three headed sheep on my shirt. BUT I do really like the colors you used and the sheep have cute faces. It's not a bad design by any means, I just think the idea doesn't come across sans title. But now I'm harping on it so I'll stop!

ok put down the crack pipe man. 7th place means its not rejected. just because its a ceresheep doesnt mean its illegal. i mean it COULD be that the history of sheep went all differently from this point forward.
or something.

Some people have been reporting a bug where EVERY design on the page appears to be rejected.

Of course, then you have to wonder why someone wouldn't find that suspicious.
