i totally agree. the hand does not lok bitten off.. perhaps if there was blood... otherwise its awesome!

Re: Reach your Goals Icarus

I wonder why there are feathers up around the hand reaching up...? it seems that if the feathers are melting off, they would be falling down. Or maybe they they caught an upcurrent in the wind ^_^ It's a very minor point, which I only mention since you asked for some criticism. Nice design!

If at the end of the day, the shirt sells out, and its noon, people wanted the shirt. If an artist can sellout, give them there $1000 or w/e and bless them with a load of $2 bonuses after. Because these shirts do sellout, I find the rigging arguement a mute point.

Except for the part where rigging is against the rules and all. Yes, they sell out, but that's a poor measuring stick. Just because a 1st place shirt sells out doesn't mean a 5th place shirt can't or won't. While pragmatically, how profitable the rule breaking is for Woot will probably guide their hand in their actions, it ideologically is no good.

I mean, you're all cynical enough to follow this crusade against Ramy and Seki based on some inconclusive evidence about some things and inconsequential examples from other things. If you're going to be THAT cynical, you might as well think that anyone that wins and gets lots of votes is vote rigging. There's a LOT of money to be made by doing so. Sure, you'd say people have integrity and all that jazz, but if you're so convinced that Ramy and Seki are doing this, I'm convinced that other people would be stupid NOT to do it. I'm an equal opportunist cynic.

please show me the thread at any popular site with hundreds of people accusing any other popular winner at woot of cheating the system elsewhere. Find it even before they started submitting at woot, I'll be even more shocked.

I like it, whether it makes it or not. People take Santa SO seriously at Christmas. Saint Nicholas (real person) was not Santa Claus (myth).

The guy shot down all but one and saved the Earth, and became the king of the land. However, he soon became arrogant and violent; the girl couldn't stand him anymore. She stole the Eternal Potion that he got from the Heavenly Mother and drank it all. This potion made her live eternally and she flew to the moon. On the moon she's accompanied by a tree and a rabbit. People found out what happened and every year they have a festival in honor of the girl for peace and prosperity. That festival is now known as the Mid-Autumn Festival for the Chinese.

I rmeember this story from Big Bird goes to Japan, I think! :D It's a very cute shirt, and I totally appreciate the non-centered placement; woot sells way too many centered shirts for my tastes!

Re: One Eyed One Horned Flying...

This is a great dwg. Unfortunately, I don't think this meets woot's criteria for a myth or a legend, since it is less than 100 years old.

According to Wikipedia,
"'The Purple People Eater' was a novelty song, written and performed by Sheb Wooley (1921-2003), that reached #1 in the Billboard pop charts in 1958. The song has remained popular for over fifty years".

Re: Myth-Busters

This is wonderfully done, definitely my favorite of your entries. The colors couldn't be more perfect for that Sunday comic feel and the characters are fun and expertly drawn. When I saw the big design detail I thought it looks great but there was no way that's going to work on a shirt, but then I looked at the shirt comp and was proven wrong. All around awesome work Lucky.

menchirox wrote:i agree, though brown is most likely the color of choice since the minotaur is brown, rite ;)

Ahh...this is correct. I actually started this with the idea in mind to use the brown shirt. In retrospect I can see how this might appeal less to women however I think the relative uniqueness would compensate for the color, which is, unfortunately, essential to the design.

Regardless, thanks for comments and votes - this is only my second entry but I am learning the most from the feedback.
