Re: The Wizard Always Goes for the Blonde
the fish headed one reminds me of family guy when Lois falls off the boat (after Stewie shoots her), and is cared for my a merman, who is legs of man, head of fish
Re: The Leviathan
Oggling my goat?! This is awesome! GMV.
Re: That Something You Don't See Everyday
I love this shirt! Too fun, and too funny! GMV.
SydneyB wrote:But somehow it does not look like he is carrying a severed hand. It looks more like the hand is growing down out of the mouth. As I said, the rest of the illustration is terrific! I like it a lot.
i totally agree. the hand does not lok bitten off.. perhaps if there was blood... otherwise its awesome!
Re: Reach your Goals Icarus
I wonder why there are feathers up around the hand reaching up...? it seems that if the feathers are melting off, they would be falling down. Or maybe they they caught an upcurrent in the wind ^_^ It's a very minor point, which I only mention since you asked for some criticism. Nice design!
so great!
Re: Worst Date Ever. (with diagram)
Oh MAN! This is the funniest shirt ever! I am SO glad you submitted it with your commentary! Awesome!
Pensketch wrote:Thanks for all the comments. It's looking like this isn't going to happen. Maybe next time.
It ain't ovah until it's ovah!!! Youbetchucan rocketed from oblivion on Monday night to 3rd place. Or maybe it was Tuesday!

This is my favorite design in this derby. Awesome

I'm with you! This shirt is my favorite this derby! (though there are others not near the fog I love too)
Re: The Mares of Diomedes
the look like the horses that the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse would ride
wizzdingo wrote:Vote Rigging or Not, If at the end of the day, the shirt sells out, and its noon, people wanted the shirt. If an artist can sellout, give them there $1000 or w/e and bless them with a load of $2 bonuses after. Because these shirts do sellout, I find the rigging arguement a mute point.
Except for the part where rigging is against the rules and all. Yes, they sell out, but that's a poor measuring stick. Just because a 1st place shirt sells out doesn't mean a 5th place shirt can't or won't. While pragmatically, how profitable the rule breaking is for Woot will probably guide their hand in their actions, it ideologically is no good.
HeartlineTwist wrote: I mean, you're all cynical enough to follow this crusade against Ramy and Seki based on some inconclusive evidence about some things and inconsequential examples from other things. If you're going to be THAT cynical, you might as well think that anyone that wins and gets lots of votes is vote rigging. There's a LOT of money to be made by doing so. Sure, you'd say people have integrity and all that jazz, but if you're so convinced that Ramy and Seki are doing this, I'm convinced that other people would be stupid NOT to do it. I'm an equal opportunist cynic.
please show me the thread at any popular site with hundreds of people accusing any other popular winner at woot of cheating the system elsewhere. Find it even before they started submitting at woot, I'll be even more shocked.
Re: Vote for santa!
I like it, whether it makes it or not. People take Santa SO seriously at Christmas. Saint Nicholas (real person) was not Santa Claus (myth).
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH love it! I would so wear this
Re: Myth-Busters
this is what "cute" is supposed to look like. wouldnt it be spectacular if it won over the shirts that are not cute and just pretending?
cabbit56 wrote:Once upon a time there was a girl. She married a guy who shot 9 suns down because they've became unruly and tried to scorch the Earth by showing up on the sky together. The guy shot down all but one and saved the Earth, and became the king of the land. However, he soon became arrogant and violent; the girl couldn't stand him anymore. She stole the Eternal Potion that he got from the Heavenly Mother and drank it all. This potion made her live eternally and she flew to the moon. On the moon she's accompanied by a tree and a rabbit. People found out what happened and every year they have a festival in honor of the girl for peace and prosperity. That festival is now known as the Mid-Autumn Festival for the Chinese.
I rmeember this story from Big Bird goes to Japan, I think! :D It's a very cute shirt, and I totally appreciate the non-centered placement; woot sells way too many centered shirts for my tastes! Hope you continue to submit entries here!
Re: One Eyed One Horned Flying...
This is a great dwg. Unfortunately, I don't think this meets woot's criteria for a myth or a legend, since it is less than 100 years old. According to Wikipedia, "'The Purple People Eater' was a novelty song, written and performed by Sheb Wooley (1921-2003), that reached #1 in the Billboard pop charts in 1958. The song has remained popular for over fifty years".
I just signed up and bought James Cho's shirt to get this back in the fog.

This is wonderfully done, definitely my favorite of your entries. The colors couldn't be more perfect for that Sunday comic feel and the characters are fun and expertly drawn. When I saw the big design detail I thought it looks great but there was no way that's going to work on a shirt, but then I looked at the shirt comp and was proven wrong. All around awesome work Lucky.
Re: Kung Fu Hangout
Completely underrated. Here's hoping for an HM and redo derby success.
This is really great. The colors really pop on the shirt!
ahuhu!, yes, ride this beast! Ride it through the fog! Drakxxx deserves to be printed. Too bad the bullies in the school yard are making it hard.
Re: Apollo's Day Goes South
Why is Apollo standing backwards in his chariot?
Re: A is for Atlas
Such a great idea ramyb, I love how the light illuminates each sketch!
The shirt is legit, no lies
You can read about the story behind this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antaeus Hope you enjoy it.
Re: Sun Wukong (The Monkey King)
I love the colors, so simple and I'm a fan of blue on brown too :P Nice job
Re: Antaeus v.s. Hercules
I really love this!
Re: Red-Robin Hood( Revamp )
This is crazyyy awesome. Those lines, the colors, the 'realism' mixed with cute. Not to mention the pun. GMV
menchirox wrote:i agree, though brown is most likely the color of choice since the minotaur is brown, rite ;)
Ahh...this is correct. I actually started this with the idea in mind to use the brown shirt. In retrospect I can see how this might appeal less to women however I think the relative uniqueness would compensate for the color, which is, unfortunately, essential to the design. Regardless, thanks for comments and votes - this is only my second entry but I am learning the most from the feedback.
I love 'scroll style'. The signature is awesome (blue paired with red is fantastic). I love the use of negative space as detail as well. Lovely.

Re: Tantalus version 2
I still didn't rectify the "cut off" aspect of the tree and the water, but I think this size and placement is a little better. Thanks for looking.
SydneyB wrote:Wow, this is great! Their expressions are fantastic! I'd buy & wear this for sure! So many good submissions this week. I wish I could pick 10, right now.. (This would be one)
