Simply awesome, I only want two so far in this derby, and this one is my favorite so far.

I love how at a quick glance you understand the shirt, it's not something you need to stare at. It's minimalistic without being pretentious.

Re: Salt Me! Did You See That?!?

I like the concept, but I think it's a bit hard to discern that the snail is strapped to one of those whirligig seeds. And if I had difficulty figuring that one out, I wager woot won't get it immediately either.

Thanks for sharing your familiarity with Avril Lavigne's clothing line Abbey Dawn with us. Of all the possible comparisons one could posit with this design, yours is the best. Congratulations and remember: stay in school!

I wonder if swirly downward spiral lines would help the cause. I tried to add them but it looked kind of cluttered. Maybe I'll go back and try it again.

I like the concept too, but I thought those seeds came from pine trees for some reason.

I have 2 girls and myself I will buy this for when it prints. And it will, I know it.

So... I do love many shirts that have images across the chest but with the one yellow face's location I can't possibly consider wearing it across the girls. nice idea though!

Those whirligig seeds are called samara and fall from maple, ash, elm and a rounder version from hoptree trees. That being said, the piece is really lacking something for me, Travis. I think I'd prefer the leaves to be maple in form since it's such a distinct shape and could could probably open the color palette with that.

Oh Brady, deciduous trees drop seeds, coniferous (like pine trees) drop cones. Sorry, I know too much about trees.

Re: splatter face

if you are going to post around Jessminda, it would be best to put that link in your signature, not post it around in other people's threads.
Go you your "my account" section and at the bottom of the page, there's a box you can add it there so every time you post, it will link it under your post.

This has great wearability. The winning designs are great, but would I actually wear it on a shirt? No. This? Heck yes.

I hope you're right!
It is nice, in a world dominated by the same 4 or 5 names in the fog week after week, to know that an underdog can stand a chance at a possible print from time to time. It's pretty early in the game though so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
On a serious note though, beyond any winnings I think the best part is the idea that a simple sketch could possibly become a tangible product....that blows my mind and I keep my fingers crossed that I will get to experience that.

avhienda01 wrote:Well, maybe I got the whole theme wrong, but what I understood was, showing something that was out of the ordinary I guess, so I thought it would be cool to have a cat chasing a dog up a tree.

Yea, that's not really the theme at all. You're mistaking being different from the collective as just "out of the ordinary". Those are two different things. The whole point of this theme is being an individual, a freethinking, something that has to do with an individual or their relation to the collective. This shirt is just a cute puppy in a tree. It would've fit the "heartbreak" theme from last week, but it doesn't really fit this theme at all.

Great shirt. Very good execution of the concept. Clean artwork, and nice color choices. I especially like the POV the lemmings falling and snaking across the shirt. Well done.

Hmm, I see. Well thanks for letting me know. If it doesn't work for the theme, I guess I'll just try again in the next derby.

This has got to be the BEST shirt ever! There is such a shortage of circus t-shirts. They are all here: Bearded Lady, Stretch Man, Strong Man and Aligator Boy.

Can I have your pity vote?

It's too blocky for me. I'd rather of the edges of the design kinda disolved away into the shirt rather than having hard edges.
