You know, I'm from the hills of Pennsylvania and I'm convinced that there are more hicks here than in the South. People frequently say things like, "Y'all daresn't swim in the crick with all them skeeters out." It's pretty sweet.

Well, I'm from Texas. I'm pretty sure we still ride horses here.
I actually love the word y'all, even though you is already plural. I find "you guys" annoying though.

For colloquialisms I prefer North Carolina's "youins" (roughly equivalent to y'all)

I'm a Hoosier, but I spent quite a few years in Mobile, truly in the heart of the south. I have no shame in using y'all, myself, because it has been ingrained into me. 'How y'all are' is as natural to me as 'Boy howdy' probably is to you.

Ohhh Texas... well that's like a whole different country. It's like there's The South, The Northeast, The Midwest, The West, The Southwest... and Texas!

I like "y'all" and I say "you guys" a lot, but I think we can all agree: "All y'all" trumps everything!

True. Though not originated from online, most of them now are an "internet" thing. It could very well just be me, but when I think of a demotivator, none of the original posters come to mind. But in the end it's just my opinion, I'm not gonna pretend that mine is the absolute truth.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of pirates either (or ninjas...just cut it out already...)

As for actual constructive criticism, I think you did your illustrations well. I like how they aren't too cluttered and easy to tell what they represent. I also like the "pirate exercises" text; good choice/find.

I would have preferred this on a brown shirt (is there a brown shirt? if not, no biggie...)
Also, I would have liked to see the pirate hat on all the figures or maybe even a bandana just to stay with theme.

All in all, nothing terrible to see here, keep up the good work

It certainly drives home the point.

I NEVER say you guys, and I don't have a southern accent at all. I'm actually from Austin, which is the anti-Texas capital of Texas. However, I completely agree that Texas is better than the other states.

As for "Boy, howdy!" No.
I do say howdy intermittently. But I always say y'all. But it's, again, completely without accent. The closest I've been to being a "hick," was when I raised a couple of pigs. I don't even like most hicks I've met.

Never heard "youins"

Oddly, up until this shirt, you've been struggling to create complex designs to match other peoples'. You gave up on that dream, and sold out with this unoriginal turd. I only say this because your hypocrisy makes me feel nauseous. Also, while I hate to hear these words coming from me: you have no right to compare yourself to Tgent or boots boots. If you EVER reach the fog again I'll be astounded. Enjoy your brief, fleeting moment of glory and prepare yourself for oblivion you one-hit-wonder egoist.

*sigh* Where do I start?

The comparisons of me to any of the better artists on here that I recall all said that they were much better than me and that I admired their works. I don't recall saying I was anything up to snuff with them...not by a long shot. I'm well aware of my limits.

I appreciate you taking your time to look at my designs but I'm not sure where you don't see the simplicity. I could go down and list why I consider each one a simple design but I think in general what I should clarify is that they don't contain all the intricate details that better artists include, such as shading, halftones, shadows, etc. That's all stuff I haven't developed an eye for. I think you're giving me too much credit...seriously.

I suppose I'll leave it at that. I just ask that you next time do not insult my work flat out (I'd prefer some constructive criticism). Also, I ask that instead of trying to belittle me, discredit my ideas, and make up a story about my brief history of shirt design that you try to hold a respectful discussion about your concerns. I'm more than willing to address your questions and concerns if you want to have a conversation instead of an argument/fight.

Cute concept - have seen some really cute videos of cats on treadmills!

Wish I could see the whole design together better though... it broken up like that and small on the shirt doesn't give me a concrete enough look to if I would wear the shirt or not. But cute nonetheless!

You wouldn't be able to see so much of ALL of the rungs unless you were as close as the hamsters are, the proportions or the perspective just aren't right. If the wheel isn't actually flat on the inside but tapered in on the far side then it'd work, but I don't think hamster wheels are designed like that.

databit wrote:Hippogryphs and unicorns (did anyone else notice the unicorn?) (What does it say about me that I noticed them both and know what they are called?)

Anyway, here is my analysis of the shirt:

Yes, it is related to Rocky Horror, but only the song lyrics that go: In just seven days, I can make you a man!
The picture of him in unicorn shorts and hippogryph T with hairy knobby knees showing reflect him as a dork, geek, nerd, what ever you want to call him. He might even be one of those pencil neck geeks, a grit eating freak. In any case, this is not what we would typically call "a man". His shadow on the other hand shows the outline of what we would normally consider a man, muscles and all.
So in just seven days (and seven nights!) he can go from being a one man, no gut, losing streak to a man.

Oh, and here are the rest of the names you may want to call the before picture:
grit eatin',
scum suckin',
boot lickin',
drop kickin',
gut grindin',
nail bitin',
glue sniffin',
scab pickin',
butt scratchin',
egg hatchin',
sleezy,
smelly,
pepper bellied,
dirty, lousy, rotten, stinkin', freaks.

Thank you Fred Bassie, you are a bastard for ever penning that song.

I can attest that your analysis is spot on. Thanks for playing!

Ultimately it's not that important, but you would see it pretty much just as it's drawn. it's a one point perspective looking straight through the wheel:

The view is in the upper right. The other views show that the cylinder isn't tapered in order for you to see all of the interior rungs.
