Re: They were delicious

Nicely done. I'm surprised there aren't more seamonsters in this derby.

re: the awakening

this shirt is definitely awesome but i the only one who thinks it would be even cooler if it was some big sea monster (i was thinkin cthulu) instead of a robot? oh well, like i said awesome design anyway, hope it gets printed!

Re: The Mythical Tree Jellyfish

Is it a jellyfish? Is it a tree? Maybe it's neither and you've been smoking far too much...

I really wanted the water to look murky in a sort of psychedelic way. How did that turn out?

I love the orange against the green. And I'm very pro fish with guns too. It's a good design.

Re: Squiddies!

I like the Squiddies... When I first saw it, I thought Seki was probably on crack. Cute squids: one loves his boatie, one poops, one is sleeping. I mean, Ever just think about breadsticks?, right? So, I like it. I think I would have bought it when it was on the other colored shirt, though. You could see the poop better on that one (I mean "ink!")

Great design, Toe. And I'm glad you haven't gone anywhere

Is this on Navy?

My monitor doesn't really distinguish between Navy and Black....

Rock on with another vote from me!

Re: Steampunk Discovery

You know, I think this derby is creating more great pieces of artwork than most (especially the last), but still in every case there is only 1 that I can see myself wearing. GMV

As hopeful as I am that this will win, it looks like it might not make it to the fog. If not, pleeeease print this through another site!

I am flattered that my idea has been copied for use in this same derby.

noisdois wrote:This one is really well drawn. Too bad it has text; it's going to get rejected for sure

Yea, it's a shame too. I have a feeling this could have made the fog, or at least top 7. Please resubmit? Maybe you could think of another way to put stamps on it that are distinct of countries, rather than text? Maybe country flags or symbols, like the eiffel tower for instance... a big apple (for NY), some countries' flags.

Just helping, cause I'd really like to see this one continue.

Mavyn wrote:Can people stop using this as an excuse?

Designs with large circles over the chest, or with text that's going to curve around them is awkward. A design that just has a picture over one side is fine.

I believe when Iceman made his comment he was referring to DeadFrog's comment about the size of the design:

DeadFrog wrote:The size will just encourage people to get really close and to stare

Icemank91 wrote:I imagine that would be somewhat awkward for the ladies.

Thorbie wrote:I really like this. It's different and the concept is cool.

Thank you, Thorbie.
I'm not expecting it to be a runaway success, It was just an idea I had that I felt the need to execute. Drakxxx's amazing work this week having half frighted me into doing nothing that might ever possibly compete with it.

Speaking of which, I wonder where it is.
I'll have to go look for it.

nontypicalmale wrote:Hey boots, I understand if you ignore this, because frankly... you do just fine and your stuff looks great! there's just a few little things i'm kinda bothered by here. first, the shadow on the big fish kind of throws me off. and also, it feels like the ripples are placed REALLY weirdly. like, the view lends itself to be a sort of "cross-section" which makes the surface ripples appear halfway down into the water. I understand that its a weird perspective, but i feel like there isn't much distinction between water, ice, and air. each individual element looks great however. =]

Again, not looking to be uppity because i could never do this, just offering a humble voters opinion.

Ahh... I see what you mean. I didn't intend them to be surface ripples. It's still a sideview, but they do look like they could almost be surface ripples but the perspective is wrong. I didn't notice that. And I would never ignore a critique. I appreciate them.

And thanks once again for the comments everyone.

This made me laugh. I just wish the whale looked like it was snickering at it's own cleverness a little more than it does. It took me a moment or two to see that was what it was doing.

Yup. The episode in which Stewie kills Lois. It was a two part episode. Can't quite remember whether it was the first or second part.

Word on the resub. The stamps could just use symbols of the various countries, like the sphinx for Egypt, etc.

Terrific story here that can be deciphered initially in just a couple of seconds.
