Re: seahorse

OhEmGee, my jaw almost hit the floor when I saw this design. GMV and, should it place, I'll be coughing up yet another Hamilton. I swore that Dragonslayer was going to be my last purchase from woot for awhile. And that was 5 shirts ago. I've got the fever. And the only prescription is shirt.woot...

The rejection all but tells you how to save it..

Its not rejected for steampunk (thats what everyone likes).. subby just needs to eliminate the plug from the design..

Insta-rejection. No placement on a shirt. It is, as previously stated, utterly BRILLIANT in its simplicity, though. ahuhu.

Is the fisherman supposed to be Conan O'Brien with a flat face? Look at that coif! Wow, haven't used coif in a sentence in a while. Looks odd. Like the fisherman's face. I digress...

Hello everyone!
There are many different things I love about our seas and oceans, and the legends related to them. I decided to combine a little of that, with something else I really love, classic pin-up art!

Thanks for taking a look at my entry!

Re: Fish

With the utmost certainty, I can say that this is the #1 entry in this derby. Unfortunately, it is not on a shirt comp, so this magestic piece of beauty will be rejected. Please resub on a shirt comp so we can all vote this into the top spot, get it printed, and watch it go unreckoned for years.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the shirt that could outdo Scurvy and Cake.

Sheer brilliance. I am in awe.

Re: Killer on the move

Even though there are still traces of an anime style (rounded whale spots etc), I still really like this and find it to be a new change of your style for the second time this derby.

Not that your previous entries havent sold well, but I hope this and your other shirt do well to encourage a different beat of shirt.woot.

That being said, I think the selling aspect of this shirt is the detail, not of the whale, but of the motion lines (wave)

I guess their shirts are so terrible, they sell out every time.

And that isn't the reason it's similar--it uses a similar colour scheme, which would make a lot of sense.

There are some other vague similarities between the two designs, but colour scheme is really the most prominent.

Chalda wrote:Ok so I don't expect anyone to listen to this but I'll put it up anyway. As a certified SCUBA Diver with my own gear and many years of experience I can tell you that yes, there is a snorkel. You use it on the surface if you need to swim somewhere. The piece that is circled on that picture is a 'regulator'. That what bring the air from the air (not oxygen, all divers would be dead if they used oxygen tanks) tank to the mouth. This attaches to the top of the tank with a piece that is screwed in and held by the extremely high pressure in the tank. It's almost impossible to get it off if the tank bouyancy so that you aren't too heavy and stuck to the bottom or too light and shooting off to the surface. So in the end all that is missing is the 'Octopus', as it is commonly known, that should be on the top of the tank. Mmmkay? Oh, and a mask goes on your eyes and a diving mask has to cover your nose or you can't balance the pressure and you will end up with black eyes.

And otters do have tails, but I still think that these should be sea lions as they are very well known for harassing behavior.

Haha, the harassing behaviour of sea lions can also be construed as playfulness, though---at least in my experience with sea lions in the Galapagos, they never did anything particularly nasty; however, they would swim swiftly toward you, until their face was only inches away from yours, and then dive away backwards. Maybe they are a bit mischievous.

And I very much appreciate the accurate information on SCUBA gear, as I've never been diving.

Re: A Rare Occurrence on Green

This design has been bugging me because I feel like the colors weren't quite allowing the the shirt to live up to its potential. So I tried it on green and like the way it turned out (added a bit of sky color, too). Thanks for your patience!
