Finally, feedback! I've been wondering what people think of this juggling design. Thanks

ramyb wrote:I love how your opinions change from week to week, because we do the same work all of a sudden again, but last week I was degas by comparison. But that aside, your question is very cleverly crafted, building in the assumption that you want so badly for everyone to make, which is that I'm not an artist and that I'm only in it for the money, which is obviously not the case. If that were true, why would I give two seconds of thought to comments asking for change? I feel that my entry last week is evidence that I care about defending myself as an artist, but more importantly, it may surprise you to know that I spent several hours longer on my entry this week than I did last. Just because it's not in a style that you like, doesn't mean it didn't take time. You can hate on it as much as you want, but I most certainly defend my execution, and also believe that I spent plenty longer on it than I "could have."

Umm... a good example of you not caring about the quality of your work would be how you often submit 2+ quickies to the same derby instead of refining one. If you have time to submit 3 designs then we shouldn't find anything wrong with the first.

And you and sek have the EXACT same style. Although I will give sek credit that they sometimes pull much more interesting compositions (instead of the rectangle at the top of the shirt).

Thank you Adder for actually calling them out on this.

That's not to say that there's NOTHING else out there similar to this, alas, there's little room to be unique anymore So I wouldn't be surprised if there were other things similar out there, but please don't assume I deliberately copied something, cause then I'd be bummed.

I'd be curious to see this other drawing as well. I think http://www.shirtderbystats.com/archive.asp is what you're looking for if you want to wade through it all, lotsa entries!

I was sad this didn't print, as I will be when yours don't print this derby....sigh.

Ah that must be the one the other folks were referring to. Didn't see it since i didn't participate in that week. Eh well. I guess they are kinda close. Not the first time either one of us sketched something like this i suppose. Do what you will woot, (not like this design is going to be in danger of 1-3rd)

Wonderbunny wrote:I own more cranberry colored shirts then any other color x2.

Really?? - I think that falls under the heading of more information than I need to know! lol - just kidding. Personally, I find the design unique and certainly fascinating; but the color is still a problem for me. I question its wearability. I didn't have the chance to see it on the white, I wonder how it looked?

I concede that I may be in the minority on this one. It's obvious that many people are in love with it on cranberry and the design is so strong that it has a clear chance of winning. Early congratulations to the artist for the powerful artwork and perhaps the winning design!!

Detail shots:

Last minute entry. Mostly just because I've not entered in forever. Also wanted to enter something 'not cute'. So, I hope I've accomplished that at least..

I know the placement is kind of weird. Not sure how else I could've done it, so if anyone has any critiques please feel free to hand them out.

Lastly, circuses that make animals perform are ones that need to be SHUT DOWN. And since I haven't seen too many 'against the circus' entries, I made my own.

Re: Basic Training

Love the concept, but I agree that the anatomy/stance is pretty wonky. The tiger totally has the frame of a large breed puppy (lanky forelegs and paws that need to be grown into). I could also do without the blank eyes, but I like the mouth.

Indeed. (I'm not necessarily for PETA, as I don't believe in throwing paint buckets on random fur-wearers or going to any other ridiculous extremes in order to prove a point...but I am most certainly for animals.)
