THIS.

Edit: I decided to clerify. I think your a talented designer, but all your work feels the same to me week after week. I think you can do better... just my opinion.
Good luck.

So cute! I might have preferred another color than baby blue since the image itself is soo cutesy (baby blue would be fine for kids), but still like it.

No! Yellow is for losers. It's lemon or nothing, I say!! LEMON!!!

Apparently that is the combination needed to get into the fog. Sounds like something my niece would love, if only there were a Disney Princess in a tower window.

How do you own Illustrator and not use Photoshop? If you don't have Photoshop I encourage you to get it.

As for your saving problem. In Illustrator go to the file menu and click "Save for Web and Devices." A new window will come up where you can save your design as a web image. Choose GIF and 256 colors with transparency on. This will make your background invisible. You shouldn't need layers for your 240/580 images. With the background invisible as a gif you should have no probs with Gimp (I've never used gimp). You'll lose a very slight amount of quality around the edges but it should work better than what you're doing now. (Look at my Entry, Pinky and the Brain).

If you need more help feel free to contact me via PM or something.

Not really following where you are going with the hand cloud... I think I would like regular clouds better... Maybe if I understood the hand then I would like it better. I still love Mr Captain Planet... He looks awesome!

I don't understand why this shirt is doing so well in the derby... I've heard of the show... but I'm not really following the parody here.

Hmmm? Really? I liked the baby blue you know... for the sky and all. Which color then would you suggest Jas? I think this could have looked pretty cute on black too, I dunno?

Re: Inspired by Captain Planet

Thank you everybody!

I was trying to put it on a more interesting background as that was my main weakness in my last submission and I was thinking like the power is yours / the planet is in your hands which was like the ending tagline to the theme song or something. That's what I was thinking at least.

I just noticed that the walking stick on the shirt comp got a little fat. It will actually look like the detail. I'll have to pay more attention to the resizing next time.

Re: Inspired by Freaks and Geeks

I hope that this design fares better than the last one. Let me know what you all think.

Just in case it isn't obvious the concept here is that the little girl can't decide whether to use the "freak" or "geek" bathroom and she is holding up the line. The others behind her are not happy about this delay, well except for the computer geek, but he has some sweet tunes on.

Re: Inspired by Firefly

There are a lot of mixed feelings on the placement of this design, and I for one love it. I know choosing placement can be a hit or miss in the derby because there are a lot of different body types with voting abilities, and the normal centered designs can appeal to a larger range of people faster.

I love seeing it when designers take advantage of the different freedoms that are available in the derbies, unique design placement being one of those freedoms.

Edit: I was really just responding to the implication that tucking in shirts is weird. I actually DON'T tuck when I'm lucky enough to have jeans and shorts with buttons that don't make me itch. My last batch didn't, but this batch does, so ... *shrug*

It's cool! It did need to be moved up, I just have a thing for designs in the corner of the shirt.

Re: Inspired by The Crocodile Hunter

Take it for what it's worth...
, but I would make the dark lines lighter.

I think right now they are taking away from the design. they make it hard to distinguish the whole image.

For example, It's like if you were to look outside the door threw a screen door. the darkness of the lines are holding the image back, IMO.

You're obviously a good artist, and like me you seem to be a little too concerned with fine detail at times - which is not always bad. That's why I took the time to actually post feedback that you can use, rather than just say Ooooo cool picture man good luck. I haven't submitted a design in a few weeks, but I do know that Wooters tend to go for simple clean shirts most of the time.

Good Luck.

kareokediva3 wrote:LOL who on earth do you hang out with that would actually point out the organizational correctedness of an illustration on a T-SHIRT? There's a slim chance most people would even recognize that they're the chinese zodiac animals unless you told them! :p

I completely disagree with your statement. Almost every single person I know knows about the Chinese zodiac. Many of them will notice the error and point it out. Like people point out errors on an essay or a roadsign, people will point out errors on a t-shirt. But then again, I could be from areas where people are more knowledgeable about the world and different legends.
