I was thinking about doing one for this show too, but saw there were already some out there so I didn't.
I've been following this one... I find woot's discretion a bit strange too, as some things do look exactly like characters from video games/other and get by, and then others like this one don't!

Anyway, great job with the stars each time, the glints especially. I like it, and like the light trails below...

Wikipedia: The word lunatic is borrowed from italian"lunacus",Italian which gains its stem from "luna" for moon, which denotes the traditional link made in folklore between madness and the phases of the moon.

Excellent.

Cute illustration and clever how you incorporated the show too.

Re: Inspired by The Weakest Link

I like it and all, but this is one of those Woot shirts that everyone will just be like, "What does that even mean?" every time they see it.

I do love Legend of Zelda shirts, but really, I think people are only voting for it because Link is in it, not because they would wear it.

Titles need to begin with the words "Inspired By" for this derby. Recommend you pull this and resubmit with a new improved title.

I don't vote on derby stuff, usually, but it got a genuine chuckle and a "Oh, that's cute. " out of me at 4 in the morning.

A vote, you can has, and a vote you shall keep to yourself.

Careful how much vim, vigor or vitality you put into your posts... your vivacious vociferousness may very well strain those velvety virtual vocal cords of yours ;)

jasneko wrote:Nice idea, looks good! I made a few designs for One Tree Hill but they seemed too plain to enter so I skipped submitting em. This is great. Where's the hill though?;)

Thanks. The hill is the curve on which the stumps are found. It's not a totally exaggerated bump but a hill nevertheless to me. If it was one-tree mountain, yeah, it's not high enough.

As long as you keep coming back to this contest, you'll keep being disappointed. People want a shirt that they can wear to a party and have their friends say, "Oh! It's a Zelda reference! I GET IT!", while they clap their hands and jump up and down in excitement.

I doubt that will happen with this shirt though. Honestly, I wouldn't have guessed this was Link if the title didn't say so. Since there are 3 of them, I would have just thought elves or something, and I wouldn't understand the point.

jasneko wrote:Ha, clever. And nice design and colors too. I am wondering how you came up with that to begin with...

From beginning to end... I scoured lists of the most popular television shows today and tried to fit a mondegreen to them. CSI was all over the lists and phonetically it met the requirements. Next I had to depict someone viewing a sai. I knew I had to do TMNT at this point; a sai doesn't popularly present itself in much else. I had to have the sai very visible on the shirt and to the subject viewing it. I drew eyes floating above the sai, the foot of a turtle to the side, and finally this idea. I had known about the other woot shirt that has the baby turtles. I really tried to do something other than use a baby turtle, I made a version before this one with a completely different take on it. Nothing worked and it all lacked symmetry. I had to do this.

If this ever gets to print I want to call the color of the shirt "mondegreen". =]

It reminds me of Tails for some reason, just remove the 'stash and give him a spare tail...

The wolf strikes me as something more vulpine than lupine, but intriguing design.

My woot! purchases: The Original Blue Hedgehog; To The Top in the Style of Da Vinci; Deforestation; The Owliminator; Yeti & Robot; Electronica (The holy grail of all shirts... THE SYNTH SHIRT! Wahoo! ^.^)
...and 1 Random. (I hope Woot! doesn't pull another Random Roulette on me for a long time; I need to hang on to my money!)
