You still can't do it can you? You just can't seem to get those numbers straight, because I look up there and I see 83... If I were you, and I am, I would see a Doctor about that.

FreeManson wrote:Wikipedia, eh? Now there's a reputable academic source. I'm a little scared to ask what your definition of "cultist" was, but just because a group of people are living off the beaten path doesn't make them a cult. Everything you are saying is coming directly from the prosecution. Interviews with Manson himself do not support your claims in the slightest. Society had already "x'ed" him by the time he carved the x, his way of saying "I might as well just carve a big x on my forehead, because I don't have a snowball's chance in hell here." And he didn't. He was forbidden from defending himself, he was forbidden from testifying for himself, and his lawyers, when the time came, refused to put on a defense, supposedly a sound legal strategy, yet it wound up with him getting the death penalty. How any of that is his own fault, regardless of any drastic measures he may have taken to prove a point, is beyond me. Seriously though, do some real research before you decide to post anymore, wikipedia doesn't count.

I hate cocky people like you, seems like I run into them more and more. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source when writing your doctoral thesis. Wikipedia IS perfectly fine when showing some bigot/nutcase/troll on a shirt site how wrong they are. I don't care if you're just trolling, I hear the wiki hate from enough people who aren't trolling to comment on it.

There have also been many adaptations of Journey to the West in forms of tv shows/movies/cartoons/anime. Now I think Gorillaz made a musical for it if I'm not mistaken.

May I with all humbleness suggest that you both watch David Attenborough's back catalogue? Fireflies and many other amazing things reside therein.

:-)

My apologies if I sounded a bit snippy in my last post - was very late at night on this side of the atlantic, and I spent a very long time in school trying to get past the idea that knowing stuff made me some sort of freak.

So yeah. My bad for being an ass at you jumcdona.

None of the shirts in the entire derby make people immediately think of the show they are inspired by. This is a shirt that people might not get but you just say "Its the Weakest Link" and they reply "Oh, that is awesome". If its some random stranger who doesnt get the reference then who cares? People wear a shirt like this because their friends and they themselves like it, not so that people on the street will stop and say "I know what that shirt means!".

I hear that short sentences are more effective at making a point...

AdderXYU wrote:Here Here!

Seriously, woot. Put a moratorium on this idiocy. Force people to make a great shirt without relying on a video game or an internet meme. Make a "create something interesting without borrowing from pop culture, you know, like an actual artist can do, you slackers" derby. Please. Stop. This. Nonsense. It isn't wearable and it isn't interesting and no amount of buyers can make it so. You know that. Man the hell up.

Re: INSPIRED BY TWIN PEAKS

You know I am not much of a blogger I usually say nothing at all. I like T-shirts and I come here to vote. But, I have a problem with this... Why is it OK for "Twin Peaks" to get away with a placement like this, yet in the Opposites Derby (I believe if my memory serves me correct) "Apples and Oranges" and "Red means go and Green means stop" are hammered with negative comments to the point of rejection because of their placement? Then we have this getting votes and people think it's funny? Seems pretty hypocritical. I have a sense of humor and while I personally might think this is funny, I am honestly surprised that those who where out with negative comments on the latter Derby are not here scrutinizing this. So here is to you for pulling it off, it's a pretty late entry so it's not likely to catch up with your "GI Joe" entry but good luck anyways. Oh, and you GMV.

Then this is an experiment to be recorded in the record books. What better way to reinterpret the title of a show than to have the show's own name reveal itself only when it is worn by a shapely female? Natural beauty writ large. I take full responsibility for the sexism this can convey, it was not my intent. I used subtlety here, and I think that is how it is surviving.

I don't take this stuff personally. ;) But I will go check out David Attenborough's back catalogue. I finally live in a state where I get to see fireflies in person and not just on tv, so I'm utterly in LOVE with them. Thanks for the tip!!

Re: Inspired by the Bionic Woman

I like you're style of drawing. the linework looks crisp; however, I would like to see some more work done with the lighting. It would be great to have some glow effects with halftones.

If you're interested, I haven't been able to designs in a while because of my new job, but if you get a good design going this next week pm me and we could collab on it. like you draw and I color or I could just spice it up with lighting and effects. I'm pretty comfortable doing this kind of stuff.

Good luck, and gmv by the way.

Thank you all for your encouraging posts! I do have a very dry sense of humor and am of the technical persuasion (college engineering professor). This was my first submission and I hope to print a few anyway for my own collection and friends.

I'm very glad to see people got it. I hoped that spelling ThunderCATs would imply CATerpillar, and it did!

Thanks again! I look forward to bringing my dry technical humor to the derbies in the future.
