I really like this. It has a very southwest feel to it for me- great!

Re: Art Deco Helltrain (v2)

A more approachable entry, with a better integration of the elements. A skulltrain modeled after the lines of the Art Deco locomotive Commodore Vanderbilt, given a skull front and all. Added the clouds and the sky to tie it together. So now it's 5 colors.

I personally like the filigree but I would love to see this on a brown shirt, without the box.

I also think this would look great with some color.

you see here at woot, the prevailing designers at any given time are not required to follow rules to secure a win. it has always been this way. and by looking at the reckoning list, you will find that this particular artist is the current designer exempt from any and all rules pertinent to a derby. dont blame the designer for flaunting the rules more and more obviously each week. blame woot for not caring. once mermaid man and barnacle boy fall from grace, another will take their place and do precisely the same thing.
i hope this has cleared up any confusion for you.

It also makes for a fantastic shirt.

Now it looks like the Hell train is making a stop at the Happytown Station. I liked the old one more.

Very cool design! Love the building & the moon. Reminds me of the Greyhound bus station in Cleveland, OH:

I couldn't integrate the skull wing thing right.. Tried to make it look like the only source of color was the train, and the acid sky.

This might be the first derby print in a while to make a sellout if it stays in the fog.

Agreed.

What's even sadder is that when Ramyb first posted this design, everyone said it had nothing to do with art-deco yet of course he wouldn't have changed anything because that would require actual work.

A nice shirt, yes, but it doesn't read "art deco" to me. It seems more industrial.

Re: Decobot Discovers Love

Thank you for an awesome design that cannot be argued as not being deco enough. I really hope this gets into the top three because it is easily the best design I have seen so far in the derby.

This is probably one of the least professional things I've ever seen in the fog. I almost want it to win, so woot can cry over how much of a failure their system is

Now that you mention it, I really see that too. I naturally associate that native palette with the deco style, probably because the western traditions had so much geometry in them.

Glad you like it!

As a pianist, I can only hope that this will get printed. Sadly, there is never much love for the ivory keys...

Plus, this shirt seems far more in line with this derby than your first.

Imposter Pete was Unprepared for the Almost Human Nightmare Cuckoo Clock. The Walrus and Eggmen were the Height of Envy at the Monkey Bar. See the DJ spinning records on a Flora Phonograph while simultaneously playing Rock, Paper, Scissorhold.

dankstick wrote:Take a look at this shirt, it is exactly the same in concept to another well done shirt in this derby. I came up with this on my own, posed for the shot, had 100% to do with it. I'm sad to see the idea existed already, but I'm sure this happens. To me, it was profound to think of it and execute it on my own.

Wooters: no concept of "similarity"

ETA: not only do you not understand the difference between "similar" and "both having a rabbit", but you seem to have an incredible air of sour grapes about the whole issue, given other posts this week already. WINNAH!
