Wonderful non-sequitur! So happy to see something as hilariously creative as T-rex toast (and well-executed, too) ... I'd buy it.

Re: Place This in Water

Aw man, this takes me back to my high school days, when I thought it was cool to put these tablets in my mouth, let 'em dissolve, and spit 'em out ... yeah I was an odd kid.

Very creative idea! Happy to see something other than a meteor crash in the cloud. Wonderful colors, too.

Thanks! I hoped people (well, some people) would think it's a shirt that will work for both adults and kids, so glad.

koronae wrote:Nostalgia doesn't equal good shirt design. Sorry to say it. With many far far superior designs in this derby, this certainly does not belong in the fog. I think the concept is a cute one over all, but print worthy? No way.

Oh, and for the record, I don't have any "toolish" designs in this derby.

And those would be YOUR opinions...my comment represented mine.

AdderXYU wrote:While I will certainly back up boots in most cases, this is in reference to the fact that this shirt basically already exists, and it was pointed out that it already existed before she submit this piece, and she saw as much, and was egged on to submit anyway. So while bwyrybebuyayrbur is indeed a jackass, you're not coming off as very intelligent either.

Also, you continue to have the means to create art by having another job. The sad truth is that most people who make their money solely from art are not making art most of the time, and most people who make real art aren't making too much bank off it.

While her first idea turned out to be unoriginal, I was mostly speaking of the different spin she took on the first concept. Which, of course, made it original. I also have to point out that the changes she did make, were changes she made in less than half a day. Which, I must say, is a whole lot better than I or most could have done. While I do agree with you on the fact that you can have the means from maintaining a different job, I tend to think that the artist is able to have better quality work and more time to fully express their ideas and inspiration when done full time. Of course I have no idea if that's even what Boots does, but that's just how I feel. As a sidenote, it really is a shame that those who are most talented don't come away with as much as those who aren't

This has a story which will need explaining every time, and yet it's burning up the charts. I'm simply stunned... it's like some sort of bizarro world.

Because Dinosaur != T-Rex.

On a side note, what color shirt is that?

Re: Clockwork Dinosaurs

0_0 This is stellar.

I smell a win.

ETA: Regarding the steam and wind-up combination, perhaps the dinosaurs are so large that no one power system is enough to keep them going. Remember that some dinosaurs needed a second brain to manage all their nervous functions (granted none of those dinosaurs made this shirt, but, still). Just a thought. ;)

Re: What they learn on TV

I love the angular look of the dinosaur's head and open mouth. I think if some of that pointiness could have been maintained in the angles of his body, he would have contrasted with the soft, round children even more.

I do like the edginess of this design, and the concept is funny.
