Shirt.Woot

How can y'all sell a shirt with a design that has been on threadless for a year and I've had the same image as a wallpaper for just as long or longer. Are y'all just copying funny wallpapers now? I guess this is one reason why the only shirts I've bought have been derby and are original images.

Yep, it explodes in the Mind Robber, but that's all just part of the Land of Fiction trickery, it doesn't really fall apart.

LOL, at first I thought it was a bird crapping rainbows too. It wasn't until I read the thread during the derby that I found out it was supposed to be a tornado.

1. This design is not available on any other website. It was SUBMITTED to Threadless, but never printed.

2. Daily shirts (like this one) do not need to follow all of the rules imposed in the derby. This is because derby shirts are produced under a very short time frame whereas daily shirts have time for the various issues (such as possible copyright infringment) to be hammered out.

3. I know there have been a few derby entries with the Tardis, but the only ones I can recall had no element of parody whatsoever. Even if there was parody, rejection is still possible due to my second point. In the case of this design, there IS sufficient parody - at least the Woot lawyers believe so.

I agree that it should have been from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. More people would "get it" when they saw it, at least in the US.

There are some of us around who rejoice in being unique and wearing t-shirts that not everyone gets. Two of my all time favorites are "there's no place like 127.0.0.1" and my Disaster Area shirt, both of which very few people around me understand. Those who do understand them know me all too well.

It could have also been a reference to the Key to Time story arc from the Tom Baker years.

I should have got this one yesterday as well. I was going to order today but looks like I'll pass if it's going to be $15. Annoyed at myself for not getting it yesterday... grrr

Is it wrong that I stayed up till midnight to buy this shirt for $5 more even though it's not going to sellout again? I must have it.
