Here's a detail pic and an image showing someone wearing the design. It may appear small on the shirt, but the designs I buy always arrive larger than I expected, and I didn't want this design to be really big on the shirt. In my opinion, it looks better smaller... so that was intentional. And for the placement, I felt the design looked better "jumping" towards the center. It made it more interesting to me, instead of having it centered. Hopefully some of you agree

Re: Rain Dance

Given the theme, I didn't think I would find any designs that I would like or frankly, want to buy; but this one blows me away. It's creative and perfect for someone who loves the rain (such as myself). GMV. Good luck! I seriously want this one.

Gotta agree- this is gorgeous. Very, very well done- and with only two colors! Great use of letting the shirt color show through.

+1 I love the rain.

And yeah, Loopy, I'll be buying. I'm officially off the fence.

Off topic - cripes, it looks like posting is removed not just from the old comment threads but from ALL comment threads. I couldn't find a reply button to respond but had to come to the shirt thread first. Gah, that means I can no longer figure out which entry a "mystery comment" belongs to ("mystery comments" being comments where the linked image has been deleted; previously I could just hit reply and look at the title to see the derby entry number).

What difference does it make which color red it is? That's the tshirt color and only the background color in the file. It will only be hidden when making the files to burn into screens. Am I missing something?

Very cute! I really like the sketchy illustrative style. Did you draw it out by hand and scan it in? or do you use a tablet?

I'm not really into this design so much and wouldn't wear it, but I do really like the way you did the woman's hair. The guy's is good too. But really love the woman's hair.

Vote!

I see what you're going for now, and I know what you mean about prints sometimes being larger than they were intended... I have a few shirts where that is the case. However, I still think it would look better if you moved it down slightly, and made it at least a tiny bit bigger. Also, just thought I'd throw in that I'm generally a fan of your work - I just wore Nevermind the Cello the other day

I thought "eh, could be interesting" when I saw the thumbnail, but when I clicked it I was AMAZED! I agree with other comments that this would be my favorite shirt to own if it wins! I LOVE IT! I also agree, the green just makes it magical.

@Stormink - LOL, why don't you like his comp? I usually use Cho's but sometimes I want to change it up.

I've already even told him on TeeFury actually. I find that fake gradient he added in for the color to be really ugly. And I dunno its just an awkward position in general.

But don't worry your design makes it look better than normal.

Didn't even realize this at first... I thought there had to be a lighter blue in there... but that just makes it even better.

Re: Rain Dance

nothing else submitted so far is even the same caliber as this.
every design i look at this week will now have to attempt to meet this new standard.
very few designers have accomplished a design that deserves such a runaway vote as you surely will have.

ok that was WAY too much nice from me, so just for some added balance... screw you!
or something.

I knew immediately that you were going for that jumping idea and thats why the placement was off. But, in the future, i'd suggest establishing a ground that is more centered to that it doesn't feel lopsided.

As for the making it smaller to anticipate it being printed larger... Just as advice, don't try to compensate for Woot's errors just make it the size you feel is best and hope they print it correctly. Because to win you need to have the good looking idea here instead of when they print.

Also, in the future... in terms of composing your comp, you might want to make the background detail in full color or 50% opacity with color so that the whole thing isn't so dark. With the grays its hard to see what is happening. And, personally, I think its better to use most of the 580x580 to post a picture that is not on a shirt and then a small amount to show the placement on the shirt. But maybe that's just my personal preference. In other words, just try to tighten up the comp so that it appeals more to the voters.

Just some ideas to hopefully get more votes for you next time.

The idea came to mind initially for me as well, but that's usually a good sign that you should just throw that one out.
