I really like this concept, but the BBQ sauce looks too much like blood to me! It would have been nice to see the his whole body standing by the grill, and the entire image a bit smaller. Maybe I'm thinking of little Rocky (Rocky and Bullwinkle), but something along those lines would have been sweet. I'm not creative and can't draw worth a darn, so I totally appreciate this effort, anyways!

Marketing-wise, it might help in the future if you don't put your image on a wrinkled t-shirt. I haven't seen that on any other entires, and it's kind of off-putting.

I actually think this is one of the better designs in the derby! It's not a vignette or a pun. It is just a cool design which is an interesting riff on the ubiquitous 80s skeleton shirts.

Actually, it is kind of a pun. Ribs - in reference to human ribs here, rather than, y'know, ribs.

do you draw your stuff on paper and then scan it in? If you don't, you should. When you build an image on illustrator without scanning it in first it tends to have that illustrator look.

I like your shirt AS well as this one, they are very different but pretty much right off the bat we all thought that there would be a thousand shirts with skewers hoho! good luck in the derby!

I don't think this comment could be more wrong if it tried.

blood makes no sense in this context. None. Seeing blood means not getting the context. And a chef beaver with a log on a fire should be enough to make "barbecue sauce" sound in anyone's head when wondering what the red stuff is. Oh, he's barbecuing wood (which beavers gnaw on), so there must be blood all over the log and basting brush.

It is true that many pieces look horrible cut off instead of complete. In this case, the cut-off of the piece works fine due to how it's executed.

And there are three shirts in the fog with a "wrinkled" template. Not the SAME template, sure, but still a template which makes it look like the shirt would look naturally, bunched up and lumpy. It clearly hasnt hurt them.

I have such high hopes for this design. It really needs to be in the fog. Grilling out is not just a means to cook raw meat, but a badge of honor that some are able to wear if they are good at it. And this design is that badge of honor for such people. This shirt is the essence of BBQ and grilling out on a summer afternoon. Not children's books and future predictions. But this crown of flame!
