Re: How we got pictures of the Yeti.....Navy Blue

Here is navy for everyone that wanted navy. To be honest I feel dirty changing my design around. But if you guys can match my other designs votes I will keep it on here. Otherwise I will delete my entry.

Stick it on baby blue and blend the outline out a bit on the bottom, but just let the mountains be the upper line on their own...

They sure did beg for Navy though... I dunno, I think Navy is too dark for the cute fun look you are going for. I still say baby blue. ;)

Thank you I agree that he should have been bigger on the shirt but I needed to get a lot of crop circle on the shirt for the idea to translate. Also if he were any bigger I'd think the farmers would notice him munching on their crop!

It's probably smelly sauce. Or kryptonite sauce.

I like it. Would have been better on black but on asphalt I am less likely to have people at work notice it is about someone getting their gray matter splattered anyway.

Yay you included Puerto Rico! No one EVER includes Puerto Rico! :D I'd get it just for that little speck of awesome

I'm no murderer. If his flippers were broken in a "never can draw again" way, though, it would be a fair call.

Almost looks like someone trying to look like someone else's style. I hope that happens at least some in this derby.

There's almost nothing else happening in this derby. It's the "let's see who I can rip off" derby. It's a MYSTERY to me how woot can claim to run a design competition when most of their users can't design something original to save their lives.

I appreciate the continued support... remember everyone that art without meaning isn't art, but just a drawing.

(And I apologize in advance for all these ellipses... they just make me sound so cool and mysterious...)

I wish it'd get more votes, I'm a big fan of this retro-cartoon style you have going on

Personally I think it's humorous - a backhanded dig at the hoi polloi voters and a snub at indignant snobbery. Sadly yes, some "more deserving" entries might not print as a result... such is shirt.woot. Good luck with the crusade, however, it adds fuel to the fire.

Cool idea, and cute design. That camera position is weirdly distracting, though.

And, for the non-white-shirters, maybe an ice-blue shirt color would work?

SDS = Shirt Derby Stats, which is chock full of information. The link will direct you to my own page, where you can see the badges I've got for unlocking various Woot achievements.

SDS has a hotness-watching algorithm to estimate vote counts for fogged entries; it's run by cwarrington, who posts the estimates each week.

If you want to keep the derby a mystery this week, don't browse the part of the site keeping track of the current derby. Through the magic of file-naming convention, SDS knows who submitted what.

oh neat stuff.

What I like about this is that, in the context of the uberfail steampunk derby, it's like this guy was called in to investigate how people screwed it up so badly. Or else to find a shred of steampunk in a couple of the winning entries

I mean, Drakxxx very well COULD have done this, but there are noticeable differences in style and potential imitation.

Agreed. The smoke is perfect and the characters are right, but they're too clean and sharp and the texturing is completely different.

Uh...test was me clicking in a random entry and typing an artist name.

That wasn't a guess. It was seeing if they were censoring ALL artist names or only those of the artists in their actual entries. So, I picked an entry where the artist and design shouldn't have matched...

I was never a fan of the show, but the pawprint markers crack me up. I don't get the green swatch of fabric/upholstery though.

Er, that would be part of his shirt?
