Re: viral video theater 3000

I'm so glad someone else did this. I was thinking on doing it myself, but didn't know how to do it at all. If only we had more mst3k fans...(here's to hoping)

I don't believe these cats are either.

Nothing will change my stance on that...and I've found some interesting information that really brings something about all of this to light.

I won't be saying anything else about any of this. This is a good design that can stand on its own without needing my help defending it any further.

You ninja'd me! I do think it's a good design.

Copy+paste:

Again, I didn't say that using the cats was a bad thing at all. You're right and I agree with you - animals are more popular than people. It works. I still think that the crayons have a stronger concept, but that's just me.

This is a great idea but will probably be rejected for its use of text and the fact it's only "loosely" based on mystery.

AdderXYU wrote:Except crayons are already colors. That is a logical parody. These are cute animals playing dress-up. Well drawn cute animals playing dress-up, but there's no reason for them being cats, while there is every reason for them to be crayons. Please tell me you understand the difference?

And they're not lolcats. they're cats.

They aren't lolcats. That was an implication that someone other than the artist created. But I have to ask you AdderXYU, are you familiar with this drink? You must drink a lot of it.

I ask because the feeling I get from you by reading your posts on Woot is that you are attempting to be satirical in hopes that Woot will become a better shirt site, but deep down you've given up hope and don't think it could get better because there's no need for them to change anything because they are making money anyway and the mass of Woot members don't notice how bad the place is--you're the only one intelligent enough to get all this and the true intentions of Woot.

The reason for using cats is needless to know. Who ever said a parody needed a reason? Things don't need a reason, Mr. Logical, especially not art. Even if the cats were used to get more votes, it's justifiable because why would one hold back an idea that will get a lot of votes and buyers?

Just as a side note, no parody really is necessary. As long as we're talking about necessities, other than plain solid Tees, almost no T-shirt is necessary either. But thousands of these unnecessary shirts are made and sold every day. Why then, if they are unnecessary, do they sell? Because people don't buy only on necessity; they buy things they want. So why does this shirt have Cats on it? Because people want them and the artist knew that.

On a serious note, I'm merely going for the idea of HOW this whale got to its present state, hence the title. If someone knows, then it wouldn't be a mystery, would it?

I'll post again to say I'm satisfied with this. I just mainly didn't like the implication that this design was pandering, but really, that wasn't from you anyway.

Here's the real mystery of the design:
why would a cat kill a mouse and not eat it? XD

Re: Man In The Shadows

Who is hiding behind the lamppost? Is it a spy or something more terrible? This shirt is full of mystery, but you will probably never figure it out. Unless you are walking through the park, staring into all the lampposts. But by then, he may be gone.

The mummy's face is definitely the best part. Not sure if the shirt color is the best. Seems to detract from the cave-like look you seemed to be going for.

Also, major props on Mr Green- you did an awesome job of stretching the 6 ink colors to look like a lot more.
