I like the antique styling of the cats but isn't this more then 6 colors?
red, blue, green, yellow, white, plum and the greyish linework?

My guess:

sailor hat = sea

key hole = key

sea + key = seki?

It should show up just fine. It's a near black charcoal color so it should show up as well as black would without the striking contrast.

The green is really yellow and blue side by side. ;-)

Clever, but then the cat is mysterious. BootsBoots works, I guess, but then I don't understand the use of the cat head.

Yeah, I was thinking seki for the keyhole as well and bootsboots for the cat (puss in boots and whatnot). Did anyone figure out the lips because that makes no sense to me?

I agree. It's very draxxxy but still maintains enough of the original artist to stand out as more than just an imitation.

And please, don't put it on navy. A color shirt would be nice, but not navy. And I like white just fine.

Well, it should be, so long as the gradient isn't in the design on the shirt.

No, not bigger. I think it just fades into the shirt too soon. It should be illustrated more, the lines made longer to show more of the chest that's in shadow. Make sense? Oh--and I also mean the PIRATE chest. Just in case there was some confusion about that.

godslinger wrote:I guess so. It's not my rule. It's woot's rule.

Apples are fine. The "anything on a keyboard" thing is just a simple way of explaining the rule to newbies who may not understand what constitutes "text". It's not a perfect description and not even all-encompassing. For example, your keyboard probably doesn't have Chinese characters on it, but they count as text as well. The main reason people use the "on a keyboard" explanation is because a lot of people interpret "text" as "words" or something with semantic meaning. With Woot, single characters count as "text".

Diagonal lines would be fine. A line is a line. For stuff like that, as long as it's not textual (i.e. meant to be a character), then it's OK. For example, if you were to draw an ambulance in a no-text derby, you could put a cross on it. A cross isn't the same as a plus sign. If you were to draw a rebus and put a plus sign in, it would be rejected. Similarly, you can use x-eyes (i.e. to indicate a dead cartoon character) without fear, since it's very clearly a non-text usage.

New entrants may have difficulty figuring out what Woot counts as text or not, but we get a feel for it with time.
