I'm flattered to be compared to Jimiyo :D But he's in a whole 'nuther league above.

I tried to get him here for the derby, since it really suits some of the work he does. He posted a design in the derby thread but it doesn't seem to have been entered.

Can't say I blame him for not entering, though.

I'll be interested to see if this one survives. I don't think I've seen any solid rejections that would give precedence to rejecting this design, so I wouldn't call it rejection bait.

kasey - congratulations on the fog, and good luck!

Is there any way this gets rejected? What would it get rejected for?

I wasn't exactly sure where I was going when I first started doodling this design, but I liked how the ink felt like it was flowing to the bottom of the letters. From there it was an easy leap to have it flow between the letters. I also wanted to pay homage to the classic "tattoo banner" style.

Overall I'm pretty happy/proud of how this turned out, even if hasn't gotten many votes. I'd certainly appreciate any feedback that folks are willing to give. Thanks!

SpastasticNomadic wrote:I see your point. I happen to be wearing Cho's Treacherous Waters today (one of my few good random purchases) and the colour palette looks similar to me with the lighter and dark blues, and enough white to make it pop in places. I like the muted, subtle feel to the design; however, and it's one of my most complimented shirts. I think the addition of black to Drakxxx's might help it stand out even more, as well. I can see, though, where it might be too muted for some.

And for my random thought of the moment - I'm craving pistachio pudding.

I think I do recall some disappointed comments regarding loss of detail on Treacherous Waters, but I'm not sure. If it does print, I'll be interested in seeing how it turns out.

Woot's been known to be extremely strict with their "PG-13" rule, which is sometimes more restrictive than "G".

Also, the designer specifically mentioned "some crazy unknown reason", which is always a risk in the derby.

Umm, well now. I'm pretty sure we all were trying to get a larger detail picture to make sure it would print properly, as there are a lot of rules surrounding whether a shirt will screen print well, or if the design can even be pulled off.

Skuls and Roses are the most common tattoos, that is what this is, only as would appear for lego people. It is a parody of that type of tattoo.

The irony you may be going for is lost on me as I have seen not just a few large, scary men with some childish tatoos. The fatness minus clothing kindof makes me puke too. That should come as a compliment, unless you were going for a hot-looking fat dude.

You have 24 hours to remove a design. You can leave up multiple versions of a design if you want, but then you risk splitting your votes.

I think it's hilarious. I love the series and I've been going through it again these last few weeks (I own all the DVDs).

My only nitpick - the airbenders don't get arrow tattoos until they master airbending.

Voted anyway, and would probably buy just because I want an ATLA shirt.
