Same here on all counts. Ack, my finger!
I like the colors too.

Re: The elusive TaMoko Kiwi

The TaMöko kiwi is an elusive species of Kiwi bird known to the Máori alone, and is the inspiration for their facial tattoo designs.
Actually, the Maori have a long tradition of respect for the kiwi, including their chiefs wearing capes made of feathers designed to look kiwi-ish.

A kinder, more civilized tramp stamp for those of us who respect the Post Office and the valuable services they provide the community.

It isn't really representing the bay literally, I just thought the name fit the finished art so I went with it. In looking at octopus tattoos I found a lot done in a Japanese or Hawaiian kind of style, with those kind of waves and linework.

Would've liked it had you worked some aurabesh (the star wars written language) intot he design, but all the same:

My first entrant in the Wooterdome, and a simple one at that. As a kid I used to get a kick out of the birds who'd hang out in the backyard birdhouse, and I'd often imagine them as a family gathering around the dinner table like any other family. (I had friends, I swear!) This scene is a tribute to my own mom's reaction to finding my tattoo one otherwise ordinary morning. She never fed me worms, and I don't have the tattoo on my wing, but the expression of horror is universal.

Hope you all enjoy, even if you don't vote for it. This has been fun.

If I knew it (or about it), I would have. I am definitely a fan of Star Wars (Episodes III-VI), but not too hardcore. Sounds like a missed opportunity on my part!

Shouldn't it be "Right..."; not "...Right"?

I love it and it's great art, but it doesn't evoke "Oh that's a tattoo themed shirt." as my first reaction. I like it, but I'm afraid it'll get rejected.

I don't see this getting past the Rejectonater, what with the R2D2 Tattoo on 3P0 arm and the Trademarked Rebel Alliance symbol.

You can ride with me, or you can find your own path. Don't stab me in the back after I've cleared the way.

Exactly what I was going to say. This might be my favorite of yours ever. Just wish the needle was spitting out ink only and not touching the girl.

Re: Ink Me Up, Buttercup.

I may not care for hibiscus flowers, but I find the tattoo much more in keeping with an oversized back tattoo. The hand is fixed, which is nice, and I think that overall, you created a fine piece.

Re: One Tatt to Rule Them All

And for those who are wondering, the Chinese symbol is a half-assed attempt to look like "Ambition" with an extra few strokes added on to ensure 100% accuracy (where tattoo accuracy= incorrect foreign language). And the Latin was done in the standard way. I used an online dictionary to look up "tattoo" and "forever" then slapped them on and dropped a few ending letters to make it fit. Again, for accuracy's sake. ;D

Oh, ok, cool. I love hearing about the artist's inspirations and thought processes. Just my two cents, but this would have been sick if you used half-tones to kind of do the shading that tattoo artists use. In my opinion, that would have put this over the top. I wish I could illustrate like you and many of the other talented artists on this site. Great illustration.
