This will truly be the gem of this weeks derby. I love the colors, the design, the way it feels like the 1950s. Great work. I hope it wins so I can wear it.

@kirsi - glad you like the design!

whisperatdaybreak wrote:I love this, and I really like the colors

Thanks whisper! I *think* it's my first red shirt, plus unusually bold colors, plus a bit different than my usual style - so glad you this one too!

D3lusional wrote:I'm not sure about wearing this myself since the subject matter doesn't do anything for me, but the colors and composition would make for a great T-shirt IMO.

Thanks! I appreciate you liking the colors/composition despite the subject matter.

The gem of this weeks derby! Wow, thanks so much, this design feels very special now: )

No thanks.

Re: Twin Dragons

The colors look absolutely horrible on brown. I am beginning to think ramy is colorblind because his shirt color choices are often really terrible. I also doubt woot's ability to make the halftones look even halfway decent. I suppose we shall see.

Nice artistry, but it's just not really wearable... plus, the anime drawings kind of kill it.

I don't think I would have bought it, but still hilarious and thanks for the laugh! :D
Also, while I do think the rejection comment was a little harsh, when you consider that there are kid sizes available for Woot shirts now, they do need to be a little more kid-friendly. I mean, this is definitely not a shirt I would buy for a child, and you're probably a little disturbed if you would. Just the fact that someone might, would make me reject it as well.

Player of all. Master of none.

Come on ramy, really?

You know I've liked some of your stuff in the past, but is this is beyond phoned in. Rabbits in costumes? Let's see, where has that been done before?

http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=7811

Hmmmmmm...barely even bothered to change the idea. You've had some good ideas ramy, but this is recycled and overdone so many times that if I squint right, it looks like 4 other designs you and seki have already done.

If this prints, and the great stuff below it misses out, like tgentry's birds, this'll be the first time I'll actually be extremely upset by the Derby. Unreal.

Using English

Excuuuuuuse me?!? I live in America, I'm a native speaker of English, and I know the phrase perfectly well. That doesn't make this shirt design NOT CREEPY in any way.

Why are the finger pits (is that what they are called?) so harry?

Sorry, I like the concept of the overall design but the harry fingerpits just distract me too much to vote.

If this was Warcraftavatar.woot.com, I could see the popularity. As it stands, not even remotely.

That anyone could possibly consider calling this anything but "Amazing art" proves that they don't know everything (oh, we love you, Adder...).

Would I wear this? Not if you paid me. Can shirt.woot print this? Not a chance.

However, none of this changes the fact that it is masterfully done. I just hope the artist can dummy it down a bit in the future for shirt.woot's lowly printing processes...

It's a yngwie malmsteen song. It's executed very well, but there's no substance there. Just execution.

And like Yngwie, only Dragonlance nerds would buy it.

Don't exactly know why... but i have a feeling you were drawing a steam punk girl... then heard it was "two" week... and just made two of her.

Well, I would enjoy it if it was just one woman in front of the gear, with legs. But... that is just me.

I think this is pretty damn awesome. But I do play WoW and other fantasy games, and I can see how some people wouldn't like it.

Still one of the most amazing things i've seen on this site.

Probably wouldn't like it on a shirt though, and I'm pretty sure Woot cant print this.

First of all, Woot doesn't sale just kid sizes. Comments like yours really makes me wish Woot didn't offer kid sizes. Woot only requires the designs to be PG-13. This is very PG-13. The Woot rejectionator is just a prude with no sense of humor.

I agree that kid sizes are one of the worst things to happen to woot ever (the quality level has plummeted even more than normal ever since) but this sort of thing would have been rejected anyway before kid sizes. The PG13 rule doesn't have any bearing on the MPAA or any other rating system. Most of the time it simply means "don't be a jerkass and give us some childish potty humor". And by that, the average interpretation of the rule by the mods, yours was clearly in its sites for being zapped

Hey, Kathnich, thanks for the comments! I'll consider your suggestion for an alternate version, but for myself in making this I did like the juxtaposition of Siamese "twin" cats and two birds...I suppose I was going for a double pun (and the twos multiply as I speak...). And I apologize if this turned you off (and apparently a few others), but honestly, I think there have been far worse (and more graphic) on Shirt Woot than two birds under a rock.

So, is there a more tasteful way of depicting two birds under a stone or is the pun just resented in general?

So, it is only art to the Dragonlance nerds... They'd probably find some substance in there, somewhere.

Maybe it's more like Charles Dickens than Yngwie. I love everything about his novels/short stories/etc, but a good friend of mine can't stand to read a page. Where I see the fanciful and whimsical, she sees some guy rambling on pointlessly and unnecessarily.
