Here's an attempt: Hair, here, seems to want to be more swirly, less clumped. Many of the artists spend a great deal of time in the stranding of the hair, while you have economized in colors and composition through the suggestion of body and style.
In fact, a lot of the WOOT designs focus on sinuous lines.
The face is very two-dimensional while attempting to be realistic...again, the practice here seems to be two-dimensional for cartoons, shading for realism.
The mirroring of the image, while giving you two images (and certainly the Queen of Steam has done this and is doing well in the voting) doesn't improve the design or add to its interest; I would focus on the development of a single compelling image.
