Lol, no. Have you looked at the two together? They're both just generic looking happy milkmen/ice cream truck guys but they don't look much alike.

Chuck Barris from the Gong Show on the other hand is a dead ringer.

Great design. I'm an old timer so thinking back to them good old days is a great thing (i mean ice-cream trucks served by guys in bow ties, not so much the gong show era--I still have nightmares about those liesure suits).

Isn't your sun woot logo crooked? thought that was a no-no. Sure they'll let you fix it when this inevetably prints though. Great job.

Ah, I agree there. This actually felt a bit more easy and fun since it was just about creating and not about choosing colors/shirt colors.
Wish I had more time to enter earlier and more!
Anyway onto your shirt - great movement! And I love how all the pins are reacting to the air-time in their own way: )

Going to have to take your word on the Chuck Barris thing. The logo is rotated but not deformed or distorted as they described. It's completely intact which is what they seem to have been going for.

Re: Little Woot Story

I like the comic panel layout. It would be a bit too boxy for my tastes on a shirt, but it works well on a bag.

Re: All Glory to the Hypno-Bag

This is awesome. Hypno-shirts would be a great derby theme too! I'd love this on a shirt.

Why? Forty-two...you see, it doesn't work.

jasneko wrote:I like this design, there is something in the style with the colors that is appealing. Has a 70s feel perhaps?
Though it would be nice to see it on the bag.
I'm also confused to what that black shape in the corner is. Someone said alligator - I thought it was a hand making bunny ears, which didn't make sense, at least not to me;)

Yeah it's a peace sign. It may not make sense, it was more of an aesthetic addition. Thanks for the comments.

As a humble request, can people please stop saying "busy" as a pejorative? It's a lazy phrase that's not mutually exclusive with something that's quality, and it's being overused like crazy lately.

That said, this design is great.

I wonder if staffers even noticed. It did escape my notice till recently. But the rules do say:
"Designs must incorporate our exclamation-point-in-a-circle mark, included in each template. This can be scaled but not stretched, skewed, or otherwise altered."

And then added:
"EDIT: when we referred to "our exclamation-point mark" or "exclamation-point logo", we meant the exclamation point inside the circle, exactly as it's presented in the included templates. This is absolutely non-negotiable. Sorry for any confusion, but we did say not to alter the mark, and deleting the enclosing circle is clearly an alteration."

Although the edit addresses the circle issue, I believe it also applies to any other manipulation of the "!" in circle logo. The rotation is in fact defying the letter of the law. Other entries have been rejected for displaying one instance of a prominently displayed logo - but also included an "intact", unaltered logo and been rejected for it. I do not see how this entry, which contains not a single unaltered logo is still standing.

I'm sure this will generate a deluge of comments, but in the interest of fairness, I felt it necessary to add my $.02.

Positioning, rotating, and scaling are not destroying the logo in any way. It is as I said before a completely intact logo which is what woot is after. In the quote above they are talking about things that are destroying the logo, such as removing the circle, placing things over it, etc. There's not one thing in there that says you can't rotate this intact logo to a 45 degree angle and woot apparently agrees. I've looked through the rejections and don't see a single entry that was rejected simply because the logo was rotated. Not one. They were all because the logo was blocked or deformed in some way.

Have I got the design for you! Having shirts ship in The World of Woot bag would be a step in that direction--and would make me the happiest camper in this little corner of earth.

Just kidding, but it does look like we both had the same desire to have the bag represent the global community of woot while still paying homage to the heart of woot in Texas.

You got my vote for that and because I like your design (okay, I'm a bit biased about that). Best of luck.
