Not much difference really, both come from the same crude oil (or bio-crude), just depends on how you split the distillation. diesel fuel has more long-chain hydrocarbons than gasoline.

The problem with ANY biomass-to-fuels product is that they generally are expensive to produce. at least so much more expensive than petroleum based fuels that nobody wants to invest in making them. But we have some interesting tech we're working on that could possibly change that. can't really say much more than that due to disclose agreements and patent issues, etc.

I am aware of some tech strategies that show promise.

Hee-hee. I picked up the two grandsons to take them shopping for school shoes and out to dinner. As soon as I saw my old van sitting in their driveway (we gave it to younger son), I thought, ah-ha! And it worked, I traded him the pickup for the van for the rest of the week. Felt so much better to drive. I might not tell husband this until he comes home.

That's cool. I only know a couple of the people making biofuel here. I know what they use to make it, and I'm fully aware of the smell. Other than that I don't really know much about it.
