I think on the classic shirt page, a countdown timer or something of the sort would be a good idea. This whole thing just started and I still had to go to page 1 of this thread to see what day the next old shirt goes up. Maybe a countdown timer, or a bar of a different color (like the orange bar in a woot-off) counting down until Sunday midnight, or just some note on there to check back each Monday. I'm afraid on orange bar would incite a shirt.woot-off frenzy, but a black bar or a blue bar to match shirt.woot's theme colors might work.

You just know people are going to complain that they still didn't buy the shirt in time because they didn't know when the shirt was supposed to switch to the next one.

I'm not sure how "Monday" is that hard to remember.

They'll get it soon enough. If they can handle the regular woot without a timer, they'll figure this out too.

No reason to make woot like the public education system and play to the lowest common denominator.

Since these are classics, it would be cool if Woot posted photos of people wearing the shirt. Or at least a photo of the shirt itself.

Our Movie Genre! I love this idea. And if you were to, I don't know, re-release the overcrowded elevator shirt with the bunnies, exactly as it was... I might buy two. It's one of my all-time faves.

Very excited about this. Thank you for coming up with this new section of the site!

Well, I just checked teetrade.org and of the Gettysburg Address design there are 10 "available" and 13 "wants". So, the wants outweigh the available.

Other "popular" designs carry similar ratios: Alpha battle has 5 available and 7 wants.

If Woot does reprint Gettysburg, I'd like to see it in another t shirt color. One that doesn't make it look like money.

I just found woot, so don't get mad at me for liking these & wanting a shot at them:

One Flew Out of the Cuckoo Clock
    Columbus Discovers Seven Stranded Castaways

About that last one...I really miss that pixelated figure that bears no resemblance to anyone living or dead.

P.S. Just got back from eBay: I can get the Michael Jackson shirt over there! Nevermind!

Yeah... that guy was selling shirts that he printed himself (ie.: stole the work off websites and printed them on hanes tees). Woot closed him down, I believe. The guy wasn't real smart when he took photos of a 'Sore Thumbs' he had for sale that he printed on the wrong style tshirt.

Thanks for telling me. I didn't buy yet. I thought it kinda odd he had so many available (over 50 of the Michael Jackson ones alone). Some buyers had ripped him a new one with their feedback, calling him out on the fakes. But he's still up and running, and there's a Sore Thumbs on there too.

I admit it that shirt took almost no design skilz to create, but it is just a funny shirt. I like that it has no greater ambition than that, just to be funny.

Quick question probably for Adder. Does anyone know or have an image of what Blue Bacon and Crabcakes and Crosspipes looked like? I was bored last night and went back through the woot archives but they don't go back far enough to when the shirts were sold (unless I missed them).

I know I'd like to have a backup of Chicago Skyline if they'd make it available.

Treacherous Waters could use a reprint; perhaps on the lighter color base that it was originally submitted on. In any case, I really like the art, but the execution is somewhat lacking. The actual composition of the scene has a hard time standing out. Most people don't even notice the fish.

I was disappointed when I missed Lady Out of Water the first time. I wasn't so disappointed when I saw how poorly it printed. It really deserves to be done properly.

Speaking of done properly, Season of Change would be one of my very favorite shirts if it were printed right. The original run did no favors to David's excellent artwork. I'd order another in a heartbeat if I could be assured it would be done right.

I'm a little surprised to see multiple support for Uh-Oh. I chuckled at it, I bought one, but I didn't realize that it was even mildly popular.

However, I don't fully understand the enthusiasm for some designs. Shirts like Bats, The Thing That Scoots, and Angry Day really don't do anything for me. Am I just missing the joke or something?

The two shirts mentioned aren't from Woot's regular catalog so they aren't listed in that archive. I believe a few other shirts are missing as well (i.e. the screaming monkey shirt and other shirts sold at main.woot and wine.woot).

I agree with treacherous waters on the color, but I think the fact the giant monster fish is hidden in the wave is awesome... once you tell people about it it's a big 0MG and they can't stop seeing it... I don't understand the hype with bats and those other shirts either... Some people like silly jokes or good puns, I'd rather have a cool design on my shirt.

I've seen them in early posts for some of the first "Boxes Of Misprints" during Random Shirt days. I really couldn't say for sure where the best place to check is, but they were never officially offered at shirt.woot (I think they had beta testers that could buy them? Or maybe they were just secret test prints that no one could buy?)

They're both pretty ludicrous... not high art by any means, but ridiculous enough to be fun to own. There are others, too, but I forget them all. Basically, it'll take a lot of searching to dig them back up.

I'm kinda shocked Uh-Oh is so well loved, too, though it did pretty OK in reckoning, I think. For me, I'd probably consider it if it was re-offered at $10, but probably not $15 and never $20.

As for the tees you don't get, I believe it's all about the absurd humor there. That's why I personally love them (though Scoots is also because it's so unique and challenging). The general woot humor aesthetic is all about getting a reference, which is fine and dandy, but unless you're Dane Cook or Carlos Mencia, some of your humor appreciation comes from original jokes. The tees have the sort of cult following that Monty Python sketches have, I'd think. And I'd say any Monty Python fan can attest that even they don't laugh at EVERY sketch.

Interesting. I guess I misunderstood. I got the impression they had been sold at the main woot.com before shirt.woot.com was created.

All I found there was a few times the screaming monkey shirt was sold, that their archives only go back to mid 2006 and that they run a hell of a lot more wootoffs than I had thought.

I am hesitant to agree that I would love to see those really classic shirts come back without seeing them first because I have no idea if I'd like or buy, but at the same time I think it would be a good idea to give people a shot at shirts they never had a chance at.

I work for Chipotle in Houston, and every time I wear my Knife to See You shirt, all the other Chipotle people go nuts over it. By the time I'd worn it in public the first time it had already been reckoned, so no one else ever had a chance to get one!

Thus I humbly submit that you never bring it back as a classic so I may ever be recognized as the crazy girl that always wears the Mise En Place shirt.

Or, you could let them all give you their money too. Whatever.
