If you understood what the red roots symbolize then I think you could get the gist of the shirt. They are not there just because.

Woops. This is my first time doing this and I didn't see that there was no text. I don't think it will make sense with out the words so I just try again next week. Thanks for the warning.

That is a fine looking shirt and would love to put my body inside it.

The design reminds me of the Surrealist Compliment Generator... not precisely random, but very sparsely connected

I'll also weigh in on prefering the hearts to any real text.

I think the art is beautiful, but I don't like how it just cuts off at the bottom. Maybe the shirt could have a bottom placement to compensate?

chade2001 wrote:way to blow it out of proportions buddy! i never said non-artist's opinions are "worthless," but when it comes to deciding, say, a final color of the shirt, and a guy like Tgentry says, "go with lemon," and you say, "go with red." hmmmmmmm, i wonder who's opinion I'd consider strongly?

to further emphasize, i wonder why former players of a certain sport do sport analysis and commentaries of their respective sport? oh, i know! because they've played the game! they know the little things that goes on behind what normal spectators wouldn't see. for years now, i still don't know if nfl players shower together. and who could best fulfill this sense wonderment? a former or current nfl player!

Different people's opinions are going to have different values, obviously. And this has probably gone far off track from the original thought.

If you showed a potential drawing to a fellow artist and asked if you should make it a high noon scene or a sunset scene, the fellow artist might suggest sunset because the shadows would be more dramatic and you could do more interesting things with color. Very valid comments. A non-artist might say that high noon would be better because that sunset sun would land in the center of a boob and would look terrible.

It's still up to you to decide which is the more compelling argument, but if the point is to garner votes and sell tee shirts, the average Jane might have given you better advice.

I think everyone's opinion has value, even if the value is that you do the opposite of that advice.

Just FYI, if you're submitting art that contains elements that you didn't draw yourself, Woot is going to expect you to provide proof that you have the license to use that art commercially. If you're not sure what that means, someone else here can probably explain how to find that information better than I can.

Hmm, I just went to their website to check it out. There are two options that I see for you.

1. It's a franchise business - you could open your own Kernels! And given how it seems you don't have any comparable popcorn stores in Chicago, it wouldn't have any competition - you could make a killing.

2. It seems like you can order products from them directly. Strangely, the order form only lists four of their flavours (I can vouch that Jalapeno Jack is wonderful as well, and I'd guess that White Cheese is pretty good). You should email them and see if you could get your hands on some other flavours. You might also be interested in flavours like Cheesy Dill and Wild Buffalo Wings. If you have kids, they might like Superkid - the pieces are brightly coloured (red, blue, green, yellow) and, if I remember correctly, they're sweet.

The only issue is that shipping might getcha. And I'm not entirely sure if they'd send the popcorn to you pre-popped or if you'd have to figure that part out yourself.

Their FAQ says that the popcorn keeps fresh for 2 months so they might pre-pop it for you.

It also provides a toll free number for ordering at 1-888-267-6262, which might allow you to get Dilled Out or other flavours.

POPCORN!

Edit:

I thought of an Option 3. Kernels sells the flavouring itself in little shakers (like salt and pepper). If you can't do option 1 and option 2 doesn't work out, PM me and I could look into buying a few shakers and sending them to you. Then you could just add it onto regular microwave popcorn!

(Sorry jas!)

Option 4: see if there are any other distributors. I was just browsing other hits on Google and someone here mentioned that they get Kernels stuff at Walmart. Maybe only Canadian Walmarts have it, but you never know.

There are other people you could talk to about orders as well. I found This Ontario store (which I've never heard of) that sells Kernels products. Maybe they're willing to ship internationally.

Then again, this may be going to way too much trouble just for some tasty popcorn.

Re: Dryad

I love the design except for the cut off bottom. Maybe roots trailing off would help it not end so abruptly. Or with some Bonsai serisa trees the roots sit above the dirt and get little white flowers on them, that would pretty.

Cotton floss is really good to use after you've gotten popcorn stuck in your teeth?

Cotton candy is nasty, though. Blech.
