Love this shirt. Of the few I voted for, I'm glad at least one is in the fog.

Best of luck

My opinion remains the same as it was for your first submission of this: it's fantastic, original, and I'd love to wear it.

5 more votes on this and you'd officially crush my self-confidence for ALL of your designs this week would've beaten my lone design .

Hehehe, great job this week!

Re: Spicy Italian Meatball

I think I'd like it better if it was little shop of horrors and not Mario. Should be pixelated IMO for Mario and the "feel" just isn't there for me. Lots of great derby designs this week, but I'm sorry to say this one isn't it for me in this theme. Little shop of horrors would definitely be more the feel of this shirt. Win or lose, thanks for putting in!

And yes, the next derby that comes along that this design will fit in will see a resubmission, assuming the design doesn't receive an honorable mention.

Remember that direct resubs will get rejected - you need to make "significant" changes, where significance is to be determined by the rejectionator.

Awwww imsochady, no comparing! Your self- confidence should not be linked to my designs doing better or worse than yours - silly!

Plus, your design was actually in the fog for a while the first day if I recall - it's awesome, just people aren't seeing it. I am amazed how well my designs did this week - you know that doesn't always happen! So think of it more like, if it can happen with mine, it can also happen with yours!
Now, if I can just get a print, then you can have something even better to think can happen to you too;)

Thanks!

Vote!

Re: Walking on Sunshine

Thanks for the heads up binkdrop & eHalcyon, had no idea there were such issues with resubmissions. Also found that I'll probably want to replace the exclamation points as per the "(Unofficial) Derby Rules" entry linked to in eHalcyon's sig. Back to fiddling with the design I guess... ;)

Thanks again for all the incredible support on this one guys. I've certainly got some stiff competition here at the top, but a good push might be all we need.

Regardless though, and again, thank you for all your kind comments and support this round. I appreciate it endlessly.

I want to reach out and hug this proper-gentleman-of-a-bunny! Gee, Lucky, all your animals have such an endearing quality, but, but this little guy is sooo exceptionally dear and delightful.

Nice, also, to see such a solid depiction of the flora theme.

CrescentDebris wrote:I considered drawing it that way but liked the flow and figured, if a plant can smile and have hands then it can probably move around to. And if it can't, well, it can now. It would have worked either way I suppose. I just thought the freedom of not being rooted suited the mood.

I do this all the time. I'll accept some ridiculous premise (like dragon plants that raise their young in pots) and then pick about the insignificant details (like how the plant should be stuck in the ground). I do this with movies and tv shows, too ("Hey, that sentient outer space cannibal lesbian plasma being wouldn't be afraid of a bullet!").

Thank you to everyone for your comments and support!

Even if you did not like this design, thank you for at least commenting on what parts you did not like.

Also, the discussion that this design brought on was quite interesting and informative. Thank you for an intelligent conversation from both sides.

I'm surprised this didn't get ensnared in the "no text" rule. Does this mean we can use text as long as it's kind of fuzzy?

I was going to say "what text"? and then I realized there's that "M" on the hat. Half an M, though...so who knows?

In theory, there should be a lot more rejections at this point, for obvious reasons on many of the shirts, like no shirt comp or outside the printing area or too many colors. I hope Woot doesn't leave those in the competition even though there's no chance of them placing, because other people will look at those as examples of what's allowed and then argue when they get rejected.

Before I was saying that I wished Woot would reject sooner/more often, but now I'm gonna say that I wish they'd go one way or the other, consistently. Either reject designs as soon as possible after submission, or do all the rejections after the entries have closed. Otherwise it's unfair to the artists that get rejected late and can't resubmit, where other artists had the chance to come back with a redesign.

Isn't today the day the print files have to be submitted? Maybe they're waiting to see those, and then do a massive sweep of rejections based on the printability as well. Although I don't know if it was cleared up whether those files were required of all designs or just the ones with a chance at printing.

We'll see, I suppose.
