Very atmospheric - using the blue palette to very good effect (and just to say that my Ramyb shirts have been well worn this Summer).

@ binkdrop - Well, when I was planning the picture I considered making it all similarly colored/shaded (with the egg blue as well) so it would be essentially just a pretty picture. I eventually decided that I liked the idea of introducing color to a bland and flat world more, hence the design. I could have made the egg shaded more like the bird, but I partially like the contrast and partially it would be difficult to do with only six colors (since the egg would require several shades of grey and the bird would need several shades of blue). Given that, I chose to emphasize the difference between the two. Hope that makes some sense. I think that they look different enough that a passerby on the street would at least think that it wasn't a mistake.

Great design I like the contrast between the egg and the bird!

I like this a lot Ramyb. It has an eerie feeling to it. Plus the melting of the moon is great as well, along with the rain. Good job this week, I'm guessing you have another entry so I can't wait to see that either.

I like how the bird, whatever it may be, looks very flowy and in your faceish, and then how the egg helps bring that out too by having a focal point.

Also, I did another design with a whale like this, only he was happy and dancing. It was a character I really like but nothing much happened with that design, so this continues the story. That whale gave up and became this guy. Another dream crushed. Aw.

The whale is really beautiful!

I thought I'd give this one a try again. It seemed to fit this derby pretty well with blue being the main color to set the mood.

I hope you guys enjoy the new version waaay more than the old one! Criticisms and comments are appreciated!

just for some background, this is based on Cat's in the Cradle ("little boy blue and the man in the moon") and has a touch of symbolism mixed into it from how I interpret the lyrics.
