Stargirl's question a while back, reminds me of a company named Ocean Blue. They were a screenprinting concern, specialising in surfwear. I did a lot of stuff for them back in the 90's. The gent who ran the company was a keen surfer and it was he who chose the company's name. The scene depicted in my design, takes place in just such an ocean. Thanks btw to all who've taken the trouble to comment thus far, appreciated..:p

I do love the royal blue original version, probably because i love orange and blue WAY too much, but I bet the design would be quite a bit more noticeable on this color.

I don't really like the way the little guy looks that much, but I love the phantoms and altogether it looks good! Agreed, the wispiness is nice.

Thanks for your feedbacks! I had a difficult time placing it on the Tshirt (which is usually when I can tell if a design works or not.. but then it's too late to fix it because I'm too busy to edit again.. :x) so it's definitely reassuring to know others are seeing what I noticed, and more.

It looks more like asphalt to me too. The navy here on woot always has a more dark green/blue look to it while the asphalt is more dark/slate grey. Your shirt color, however, looks like a dark purple/grey, but I would assume first that it was asphalt rather than navy. Just thought I'd throw that out there since it was asked.

No calibration necessary. It's only on navy because it has to be otherwise you'd submit on black. The color is purely incidental.

Croooooooooow!! it ended up looking horizontally squished.. but i assure the original design is not. Oh well! This is my first entry, I only submitted something because 111 is my birthday :D ... any designers out there have advise for me? Perhaps, advise on how to make the preview not-so-squished-looking even though I made it the correct dimensions?

It shouldn't be about whether any of her (or Ramyb's) shirts are off topic when they are. The rejection of this shirt is about THIS shirt alone. Yes, their other shirts may have been on topic BUT the Woot Admins should have rejected THOSE shirts. THIS shirt is actually on topic.

I'm not trying to defend Seki (in fact, I didn't vote this shirt in, and had no intentions on buying one), just pointing out that her being off topic previously shouldn't have bearing on her getting rejected now.

Thanks so much for the update info on lighting bolts - I really thought that there was only one!!! What a surprise...! Seriously though, I stand by my opinion that the 2 designs are, in fact, similar: defined as -

1. Related in appearance or nature; alike though not identical.
(thefreedictionary.com)

1. having a likeness or resemblance, esp. in a general way (dictionary.com)

1.having characteristics in common
2.alike in substance or essentials (Merriam-Webster.com)

To me, these 2 designs have a lot in common as well as a few differences; i.e., alternate side placement, cool versus warm colors, lights at the bottom of Electric Blue.

But to state that Electric Blue has "NOTHING in common with the design you linked to, other than having depicted a lightning bolt" I think misses the essence of both designs. However, we are each entitled to our opinion.
