Not that I know this for a fact, but if Woot won't print poop, I doubt they'll print puke.

There is one shirt in every derby that I fall madly in love with. In this derby, this is the shirt.

If this doesn't print (and yes, I've ever hopeful) could you post a link to a version I could use as desktop wallpaper? Pretty please?

I sure wish Woot had a "delete post" button because I apparently don't like to check to see if I'm logged into my bf's account or not before I post ">_>

As far as it being the Blue Man Group, that's a whole other issue. If it's a parody of the Blue Man Group, it's acceptable. If there's no parody involved, it's rejectable. If it's not recognizable as the Blue Man Group from the drawing, then I don't think that changing the name will change their opinion.

Well thank you for the heads up appreciate it. I am still new to this so evey little tip helps.
Lately, they've been kind of lax about rejectable entries at the lower end of the votes, so this could very well stay until the end of the derby. But for future entries where you get more votes, keep in mind that people here have a good eye for stock artwork, and if someone sees something they recognize you'll probably get asked for proof that you have the rights to use that art.

(And for the record, if it were on any other color, the design wouldn't really make sense)

There's no point in arguing any further- the moon can be any color you want it to be in your eyes

Why don't you post your history of shirt color usuage. Before this you'd find about 4 asphalt. 4 grass. 1 cranberry. 1 white. 4 brown and 15-20 black.....and 1 navy. In all of your time here 1 navy design. There's really no point in you pretending for you fans because they only care that your name is on the design.

Really now. Woot isn't going to reject your designs; they've proven that. The voters don't care what you submit they just vote for you because they followed you here or to spite people like me. It really would go a long way if you'd drop the smug demeanor and admit your m.o.

Ramyb, you never fail to make me smile. You constantly have to put up with such vitriol week in and week out, yet it seems you always respond with dignity and grace, even when it's not deserved or reciprocated. Keep on keepin on.

ps, I for one had NOT heard Blue Moon before. Just listened to Ella Fitzgerald's version on youtube, thanks for mentioning it!

Re: Dance of the Deceased

Thanks for the support regardless guys.

I understand that my interpretation of the theme was a little loose, so I understand and respect the staff's decision. It's disappointing for sure, but I don't think the design would have made the top 3 anyways.

I plan to do a lot of stuff in preparation for Halloween, so I'll certainly see if I can do anything else with this design.

I'll hopefully see you guys in 2 short days for the next contest.

XocoMint wrote:It shouldn't be about whether any of her (or Ramyb's) shirts are off topic when they are. The rejection of this shirt is about THIS shirt alone. Yes, their other shirts may have been on topic BUT the Woot Admins should have rejected THOSE shirts. THIS shirt is actually on topic.

I'm not trying to defend Seki (in fact, I didn't vote this shirt in, and had no intentions on buying one), just pointing out that her being off topic previously shouldn't have bearing on her getting rejected now.

you are missing my message. i was not dwelling on the hypocrisy of the WOOT STAFF, i was pointing out the hypocrisy of the COMMENTATORS on this page, the sekiyoku fans who demand "fairness" on this entry.

i have long ago accepted the hypocrisy of the woot staff, and i find it both amusing and vindicating that sekiyoku now finds herself on the other side of a double standard.

the woot staff will never change. they will always be fickle, biased, and frustratingly unfair.

binkdrop wrote:It looks more like asphalt to me too. The navy here on woot always has a more dark green/blue look to it while the asphalt is more dark/slate grey. Your shirt color, however, looks like a dark purple/grey, but I would assume first that it was asphalt rather than navy. Just thought I'd throw that out there since it was asked.

I agree with both of you on it looking weird. I definitely took it from photoshop's definition of 'pantone 532c', but woot's swatch looks much darker/richer. Before entering I checked it several times thinking it was wrong, but when I checked the 'what's this?' on woot's submit page, it said 532 pantone..so I figured it was ok.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could find out what I'm doing wrong. I just can't figure it out. Here's a swatch I took from some of the entries compared to mine:

Something is definitely up.

Why don't you download the Woot shirt PSD template and just use the eyedropper to select the Navy color box so it's an exact match? I remember when the bag derby was going on, they gave the pantone numbers/colors for the blue and yellow that were to be used, but those ended up being wrong, so maybe it's a similar scenario here. I don't know though...the eyedropper is how I do it. :D

I took a quick tally of the number of shirts I've done on each color, just for you

black: 10
navy: 7
asphalt: 7
brown: 6
baby blue: 4
royal blue: 3
grass: 2
white: 2
olive: 1
cranberry: 1

I'm not really sure why exactly you are upset here. Is it because I followed the rules in making the shirt blue?
