"Ocean Samurai" should probably have been rejected. But as has been noted on the thread for "Japanese Fighting Fish", there's technically no such thing; they are Siamese Fighting Fish. The other design does, however, have them in samurai suits to keep them on theme.

Who said otherwise? That argument is for voters to consider. I assume that the designers are designing because they enjoy it, especially since so few of them win on a regular basis. That's why they should be designing.

Does that mean any debate amongst voters is silly because it's over a 10$ shirt? I don't think so.

Please save this one and when a future derby comes up that it will fit in, make a small change and re-submit. I think this is my favorite design this derby. Love the cat especially.

Sushi Loving Owls ... what more needs to be said? It rules. I mean they are owls, and they love sushi... not to mention it's cute.

Some of the shirts that have that authentic "Japan feel" are boring. They basically say "I can't put this in a frame or print, so the best I can do is have it on a shirt." or tells people "I need to have this on the shirt & have a wide distribution because it's not selling at the flea market."
