Re: The Crane

I love the design, but the kanji sort of ruins it for me. I think the red overwhelms the rest of the image.

A coworker just gave me a whole calendar of origami. A different design every day.

None as cool as this one.

I got one as a gift too, though I still haven't used it. D'oh! I used to be really into origami but now just do it with the chopstick sleeves when I'm bored at asian restaurants=)

Vote!

In my opinion it needs a large, acne-ridden white guy with a too small pokemon shirt and the naruto manga in one hand and a sailor moon resin statue in the other.

Leahbh wrote:I think you should get rid of the box, or not make it quite so solid, add some texture to it maybe.

I actually like the box though other things could work. What I don't like is the choice of asphalt, but other than black I can't come up with an alternative that would look better.

I really like the way this is done though. Very outside the box and one of the few not harping on stereotypes. Excellent.

Thanks for bearing with me here with the resubs- I believe the writing is all in order now, and I added an outline of the country in the background

Okay I stand corrected none of Ramyb designs ever look like a recycled idea....just like this shirt isn't a recycled idea of A IS FOR ATLAS....

Ha, i could see him shaking his fists (that aren't there) at children on his lawn...

@RedQ33n
Thank you! I try to make my designs as much my own as possible. I make them more as artwork than what will appeal to the masses. If that means I won't win, that's fine with me :]

@IcyMallard
Edgar eyes? Not sure what you mean...
Glad I've got your vote though :D
*psst* ma'am ^_^

@Drakxxx
At the very least, there is 11.
Sun, Fox, Cloud, Tree, Koi, Blue Rock Thrush (Eurasian bird), Snake, Japanese Iris, River spirit, Mt Fuji, and the boulders at the base of the tree. To be simple, we'll count them all as one Kami :]

I actually enjoy it more than the first samurai one, but I would like to have seen the red sun a little more worn or more painted like the kanji, it doesn't quite fit. Still gmv.
