i can't decide if i should go for it... the image is a little big for my liking, but i think it's such a cute shirt.

Somewhat unrelated to the shirt, but have a sad story of a betta in a helmet ...

Picked out a pet betta in my university days with a purple helmet-shaped spot on his head, and named him 'Magneto'.

All was well ... until the spot began to grow. Over the course of several months, it swelled and expanded into something that almost resembled a real helmet.

Turned out to be a tumor.

Poor Magneto. RIP and I hope you're happy in fishy-heaven. Be sure to make friends with whichever of these fellows dies an honourable death in battle and joins you shortly.

i once had a siamese fighting fish and a goldfish. unfortunatly goldie didn't have a sword and he died in the castle. needless to say, i hope this shirt does better than goldie and gets a better treatment than being flushed down the toilet.

Their bottoms remind me of those shaving brushes that came in the "Old Spice Shaving Kits" at Christmastime we got for Dad back in the 70's.

I still can't decide if I want this, if it was me I would really love to see the Fan(6th place one). I am def going to buy the spork one haha.

The top symbol is indeed 侍 (samurai) and the bottom symbol is indeed 魚 (sakana, a.k.a. fish). Unfortunately, in Japanese, when one kanji is below another kanji, it forms a new word. In this case, the word is 侍魚, which is meaningless, but I think the expected pronunciation would be jigyo, and the meaning would be something like "fish servant". A Japanese person wouldn't fully understand this shirt, either, because they call the fish ベタ (beta, a.k.a. betta), not samurai swordfish, or whatever. He'd understand what you were going for, but it's like when we see Engrish.

The samurai kanji is poorly written, IMO. The leftmost radical takes up too much space. I could be wrong about this part, though.

It looks pink on my computer screen, too, but it is actually creme or cream...woot spells it both ways in the write-up. One of my least favorite colors, but I love the design, so I bought one anyway.

this is the first derby in a while i can say with confidence that i won't be tempted to buy any of the shirts. this one is probly my favorite out of the fog but still...just no.

Fish don't have thumbs to hold swords. And even if you could give fish thumbs to hold swords, where are they going to buy the swords? There's no sword store in the bowl, and even if there were, where would the fish get the money to buy the swords?

Seems like most Chinese/Japanese symbols are messed up on American Ts and tatoos :p

it really irks me that the lower kanji goes behind the image of the fish. it seems like it would've been so easy to move it just a little to the side.

I have a soft spot in my heart for these fish, and the idea of one donning a helmet like Magneto was awesome! Sad that it was a tumor, but at the same time he too had the opportunity to be a mutant (of some type) and supreme ruler of his entire world. Or bowl. Or... whatever.
