yknow, since surely you can comprehend reading a contract or something, right?

Oh my god. You know, maybe you need to rethink your life. You're seriously obsessed. How many countless hours have you spent flailing about on woot, reading ramy's ED page, googlesearching for our names... I've made posts that are not related to you in the slightest and you feel the need to respond to them anyway. If this were not the internet, I could probably obtain a restraining order.

How many hours of your life have you dedicated to us? Seriously, just think about it. So sad.

(Also, I will kindly inform you that Metrocon was not a very good convention, the Florida ones never are, and that this particular convention allows one to obtain as many tables as one desires, so I'm not sure what contract you're referring to. And don't forget to think about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYFoIVhmLnM )

That's why I edited my comment before you responded. I really do appreciate it, but if you scroll through the comments, a lot of the positive ones seem to get lost in the overwhelming number of negative posts. I like to send people PMs sometimes instead of making responses in the thread, because people get extremely nasty on here. You'll never see any posts like these for Jewelwing or Boots- I used to respond to all my comments, but a lot of the people making positive remarks have been scared off by now. I really do appreciate all of my positive comments and votes that I receive, but at a certain point I can't just look at the completely biased, unwarranted and just generally nasty remarks without making a response, especially when they are based on faulty logic or just no logic at all.

On the same note, I also want to comment that not all of the comments on this thread that have been negative have been nasty. Unlike a lot of my other threads, this one has actually contained a lot of constructive criticism, and I actually intend to work on what was mentioned. I didn't have the time this week, but I actually want to revisit this design and fix a lot of the things that were mentioned, or perhaps just redraw it altogether.

Anyway, I apologize if I made anyone feel that I didn't appreciate their support, because I really do. Obviously I can't get anywhere without it.

So thanks again

Yeah, it's too bad he never responds to constructive criticism which is why it's largely absent. People have been telling him to take an anatomy course for months (maybe he'll have to now for med school). For quite some time Adder, myself and many others posted constructive criticism which is and was and continues to be summarily ignored. Other artists don't get flamed because they put time and effort into making quality designs and still rarely print. Ramy puts the same minimal effort into the same formulaic designs with the same flaws week after week and week after week people continue to vote the artist not the work.

On blue moon there were a multitude of comments stating, "I like this but what's with her gargantuan arm?" And here again we have another gargantuan arm completely out of proportion with the rest of the design. The righteous indignation is laughable because ramy has earned every detractor he's got. I can't speak for anyone else but it's not worth it to be constructive because nothing changes anyway.

AdderXYU wrote:While I can assure you that my life's work does not and never will involve screenprinting or designing myself, I can also assure you that, based on your commentary here, I would never hire you for a graphic job. And I'd wager the only person who would is Ramy.

Hands on experience does not make you good at something. And really, this is the internet. It doesn't matter if you are or aren't a graphic designer. That, you can lie about. But you can't fake being incredibly wrong.

And nevertheless, I think we agree. You have said you've seen better work (though why you defend such horrible work, who knows), and I have never pretended I'm not a jerk. Do the two have any bearing on each other? Not at all! The same designers are still untalented designers and have no respect for the spirit of this site regardless of my own personality. Refute that, o graphic design god.

Why thank you for calling me a graphic design God. I never proclaimed to be one and said thatI am not at the same level as many here. So I guess we have a bunch of SUPER God's on this site. I feel so humble now.

For one thing I would never work for somebody like you, but that's a moot point, I don't think either of us has that goal in mind. Besides, my commentary is mostly calling you out, so you are right, who would hire me for graphics based on what I write? They would be a fool to base a decision on that, but apparently you would from your own statement.

And you are correct, hands on experience does not necessarily make somebody good, but that does have at the very least higher learning and better education and understanding on how things really are. Use Movie reviewers as an example, they are in that business and make a living of doing what they do. Could they make a better movie themselves? Hell no, but they have REAL world experience. Something you are very ignorant about.

You are correct, anybody can lie about their experience on the internet, and that is why I meet with my clients in person as well as show them my resume and portfolio and that speaks for itself. But you wouldn't know that, would you, since you have obviously no experience other then being a self proclaimed expert. You can't even tell me what you do for a living, what does that say about you? I don't care if you are an office jockey, I won't make fun of you for it, but that would make me understand where you come from. Maybe you are a high level executive (doubt it) at a marketing firm, that would also give me a better understanding and maybe actually make me rethink some things. Yet you hide. Too bad, you could not just lose supporters, you could possibly gain some in your quest as well. Too bad.

And as much as you think I defend some of the work here, you are incorrect. Very few maybe, but I defend against people like you who have nothing good to contribute. No constructive criticism, just rudeness and insults. In that process you waste time bickering with me, which leaves you less time to be rude to the designers. Sorry to tell you, but I am succeeding in what I try to do. You have less time to be rude to people who are just trying to design things. Success! And it annoys you, if it didn't you wouldn't even bother replying to me. Another success on my part. Thanks for playing tho. k thx

Doesn't anyone else see this? This isn't just coincidence. The blue values are almost the same aside from a green overlay. The shapes are just rearranged but are still in very similar patterns. I'm extremely disappointed in the rejectionator. Those are essentially the same damn thing. Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966)'s weak.

They are currently tied. While I think the other one is very clever, this is the design I really want to wear. The other thing is I also want Draxxx's design, so when the other design makes the leap I hope that one stays put.

Rather than these vague generalizations, can you specify a lesser, popular design that's not getting criticisms? And why they deserve criticism?

Perhaps these criticisms you cite are legitimate. Considering there's plenty of legit criticism that's not marked with any venom for this design, maybe that holds more water than any righteous indignation.

Honestly, although I don't always, I fully agree with most of the criticism on this piece. I regret the way I did this design, and wish I had spent more time on the sketch. I simply did it as a fun illustration for myself, and the design has far exceeded my expectations in how well it has done. Like I said, I'd love to do another version of the design when I have more time, to see how it would have come out with a bit more time and thought, as well as with the help of the critiques I received on this thread.

Great job on the design T! It's a must have for me.

It looks like Drakxxx is currently in third, so this wouldn't knock it out of the fog but then the two of them would be fighting for printing in third place. I don't think we'd be getting both of them to print.

I have to admit, I'm a little jealous that you said you didn't spend as much time as you think you should have on this picture, you regret the design, and you agree with most of the critiques, but even still...it's doing quite well in the derby. Not like seething jealousy though, mind you. Just like the smallest little jealousy you can think of, nestled deep inside of me, kind of tugging at my brain occasionally to let me know it's still there.

And just to make what I'm saying a tad clearer, I'm sad that you're not proud of it, and yet you submitted it, and it's doing rather well.

*tug tug* "Yeah...hey there again, little guy. I know, I know. You're still there."

Technically a strike is marked with a filled square on a score sheet. An X is just a short indication that the square is filled. This design is using a modified filled square, and isn't really text... in my humble opinion... and 30 years of bowling experience.. lol.

It's the same way when you type a paper and try to revise it yourself, you do not notice the flaws unless someone else points them out.
